guest569
Look, OP didn't come here with a weight problem and doesn't seem to be concerned. Age could also be a factor with the BMI thing, not sure of OPs age. I may not be a guy but I tend to agree with Weezy on the attire. On some first dates I wore jeans, converse shoes and nothing special for a top and always got 2nd dates. These were just relaxed day time dates so dressing up would be too over the top. Remember you want to attract the right sort of guy and I think you mentioned clothes are just to give a good first impression but you want the guy to like you for who you are. Wear what yu are comfortable in. But having said that i think it is important to wear clothes that fit properly and look neat and tidy.
Leigh 87
This is not the norm though. 5'4 110lbs is not the build of a girl who is unhealthy. Those BMI charts are pretty much useless. There is absolutely no way a standardized chart can tell you your body fat. When I was at my most fit, I was considered obese on that scale. That's when I was a competitive athlete, and had a lot of muscle. Uu In the extreme, yeah. As I have continued to point out, the OP's build is far from extreme. What I don't get is why so many other women keep bringing up extreme cases of anorexia and being way underweight in a discussion about the OP, when she is neither of those things. The Op is just a typical Asian woman with a nice, petite build. I never suspected she had anything wrong with her. I just wanted to point out that her weight at her height is actually not healthy for the majority of woman.. Check out my profile. I have new pics up. I was 130 lbs at only 5'5 so I'm not a bitter over weight woman here haha. I just know through my own research that less than 70% of woman are healthy at the OP's weight and height. Not many was of average heights are healthy at 110 lbs. Only small boned ladies can pull it off without excessive diet and exercise. I didn't stave myself at that weight actually but it still.. Just was unhealthy since I am of an average build. There are any average framed woman of that height who are naturally 110 lbs. I worked very closely with an expert a few years ago and it's definately only small framed woman like the Op who are healthy at that weight.
Leigh 87
Op, I happen to be good with personal style and I know for a fact that a cute and petite Asian woman like yourself would look more feminine and attractive in a pretty summer dress. Of course the key to great style is feeling comfortable and using fashion as an outlet to express your personality so please, have fun picking a few dresses that you feel great in. It may feel a.little strange or even uncomfortable wearing dresses when it's never been your thing. I was never one to wear dresses and so it tooke a while to adjust but I managed to find colours patterns and cuts that I felt really pretty in even though I knew I wasn't a stunning beauty. Try it..gp.shopping.. Focus on feminine tops, you are petite and small.chested, this is a fantastic body type as you can get away with thin, small spaghetti straps and elegant feminine cuts that male us bug breasts woman look.trashy!!
Eternal Sunshine
OP move to Australia. Most guys I had crushes on married Asian women. Such is life Being Asian is like the holy grail here. I actually read somewhere that Asian strippers earn more than any other ethnicity in the world.
Leigh 87
OP, It is mostly about learning to have fun with fashion; learn to feel more happy and positive through simply enjoying a nice new top in a colour you love. Embracing fashion and make up changed my life. I get giddy with excitement over a new top, I enjoy wearing things that I really, really think are beautiful. It is not about being shallow or going shopping incessantly and wasting all your savings, you don't need much, but I noticed that changing my fashion sense into one that reflected and showcased my personality SIGNIFICANTLY changed the way males viewed me. I was happier, more confident and felt prettier. For me, the only thing I did differently was: curl my lashes, wear mascara, and wear a nice sheer lip balm and tinted moisturizer that evens out my skin tone! It doesn't take long to do these things, it can take 5 mins a day to become a more polished version of yourself. The problem I see with the OP is that she hasn't really experimented enough with clothes and make up. Honestly, I took a year or two or THREE or even four to... mould myself into the most attractive version of myself. I am heavier than I have ever been but I get more male attention because I know how to make my eyes stand out, I highlight my best feature (my smile!) and I LOVE wearing clothes! LOL yes I genuinely feel my mood perking up through simply buying a nice green lace top I bought the other day, a quirky designer from Holland that I only afforded because it was 60% off! Seriously, I felt like a million dollars walking out of that store with such high quality, lovely clothes! I knew it wouldn't suddenly make all the men take notice of me, but my ATTITUDE certainly attracts MORE men then it did when I wore all black and had no personal style. Of course I have felt fantastic and had my mood immediately heightened through getting a lovely top from Target too, but if you ever see a 60% off at a designer store, it is always nice to have one or two pieces that are great quality. The point I was trying to make was: I feel instantly happier when I wear a top in a colour that I REALLY like looking at all day. It enhances my mood and shows the world I really love that colour. I am SURE the OP has some lovely features that would look stunning if she learnt how to show case them AND she also needs to learn how to embrace her femininity and ENJOY wearing new dresses, clothes and make up. Essentials for all woman: - eyelash curler - mascara - concealer to cover blemishes -TINTED MOISTERIZER WITH A HIGH SUN PROTECTION - sheer lip balm You don't need foundation every day, I just wear a tinted moisturizer as it evens out your skin tone and makes your skin naturally appear more even and better quality. With make up, less is more unless you have a bad skin condition in which case skin and beauty saloons, the better quality ones, tend to have professional camouflage make up that covers the worst of scars. Well worth investing in, I did when I had acne scars, it did wonders.... I am sure you will be FINE once you invest some time in developing your confidence through picking some new clothes, learning to enjoy wearing them, and realising you can be happy and confident without all the guys having to pick you... It took me a while to change, but I recommend the OP try to first of all, buy a dress or two. In colours and/or patterns she thinks are really pretty. Then a nice tinted moisturizer to match her skin tone, an eyelash curler and I presume she already uses mascara.
somedude81
I think that I am less attractive than other women my age (not just the gorgeous ones). I feel like I am the least attractive if I am in a room of girls. OK, I'll take your word on that. Feeling that you are the least attractive can also affect your self-esteem and have a side effect of making you look even less attractive. I am Asian. I don't know how Asian girls are viewed as in the dating scene, but I never really believe ethnicity is that important. It can be depending on the ethnicity of the guys you want to date. I'm a white guy and to me Asians girls are tied for second in my preference. To me white girls are #1, and Asian and Latina girls are #2. I don't really pursue black, Indian or Arab girls. For me, when it comes to ethnicity, I'm also really looking at how Americanized the girl is. If an Asian girl is really shy and doesn't dress well, it's hard for me to get interested in her. I used to be outgoing, but I didn't get much attention from that. I am quite quiet now, because I think that it is annoying to guys if I am unattractive and outgoing. I feel that they will think "who does she think she is". I used to be outgoing and are comfortable talking to guys, but in the end, one of them actually told me he doesn't see me that way. ApparentIy, he thought I liked him because I was outgoing, talked a lot to him and seemed interested in him. I didmt even liked him. That's why I don't do it anymore, I don't want that to happen again. It is hard with me to carry conversations with strangers at a party. I don't know what to talk about. Any ideas? I really think you should try to be more outgoing again. Shy and quiet is very easily misinterpreted by men as cold and not interested. Just be careful with how much you flirt. I have small boobs, not flat. Not trying to go in details here, but many small Bs. That may be an issue. Most men are interested in woman who only have two Small boobs are fine for an Asian girl. Haha, yes I'll have to admit they are not even tight jeans, makes me look weird. I'm changing my style though . Are dresses a good option? And should I wear more makeup? Dresses are fine. Just make sure that they are cute and a little sexy. I think you should try the tight jeans again. Men primarily go after a woman based on how she looks. If a girl is cute, then a guy will go up to her and try to get to know her. If a guy doesn't think a girl is cute, he won't give her the time of day. Sadly, that's just how it is. As for if you should wear more make up. Yes! Here's a video of some before and after shots of makeup on Asian girls
d0nnivain
Just a quick question btw, I am trying out different dress styles now because I used to be the jean, sneaker and hoodie girl and I think guys might see me as a bro instead of a lover. Should I dress more girly? I realized a lot of my clothes does not have a perfect fit on me. Should I aim for clothes that fits my body type? I realized I buy and wear clothes I see that looks attractive on the model, but it doesn't fit me. Does it matter what a girl wears as long as she looks clean? As long as she is clean what a woman wears might not matter to a lot of men. It will matter to you. If you feel good about yourself you will feel more confident. That does involve clothes that fit, are stylish and work for your body type. Not every cut looks good on every body. Most models are tall & slender. If you have a different physique the clothes won't drape the same way on you. Watch a couple of episodes of the A&E show What Not to Wear. That may help you dress for your shape. Also if you can find one, ask the sales staff in the stores. You will get better info at the higher end boutiques.
