Tony do you live here at the Loveshack?

I'm amazed at the amount of time you spend here. Damn near every single message posted has a response from you. I counted like 25 posts that you'd responded to consecutively. No offense but don't you have a life? Or do you think that your the only one here who can give decent advice? If I was the others I'd just not bother coming here to try and help because your a one man band. You get pretty touchy when your advice is questioned dontcha? They should rename this place Tonys Shack. Just isn't healthy for a grown man to spend this much time here. Get outside , get off the computer and go get yourself a life instead of dwelling on everyones life here.

1. No offense but don't you have a life?

This question comes up every two or three months. Yes, I have quite a great life. I have a very nice home, very centrally located. Yesterday, for instance, I ran along Tampa Bay for an hour, I attended an art show in the Hyde Park area, watched a movie (a post can be answered in just a few more minutes than a commercial break lasts, but I'm really good at catching up), and got a lot of paperwork done on my computer.

I had my usual cafe con leche and cuban toast at a small place with a friend of mine, which is what I do every Saturday and Sunday morning. On Saturday, after coffee we spent two hours looking at several real estate investment properties we are considering getting involved with.

I also downloaded probably $250 worth of music off of Napster (www.napster.com), which the courts will probably shut down today. The decision is due out from the courts this morning. I guess I'm very good at time management.

Each response I type takes about five minutes, so if I answer ten queries that's less than an hour and done while I am downloading $250 worth of music from Napster. Luckily, when the courts shut Napster down, I already have another file swapping program, fileshare 2.0, to do the same thing.

2. Or do you think that your the only one here who can give decent advice?

Not at all. I mean you can just look and see there are lots of people who post and they are warmly invited to do so. A lot of posts go begging for hours to be answered. One time I answered one that people had ignored for two days. Yesterday, some posts sat for hours without attention. Of course, it shouldn't be my concern but I actually do make an effort to let others handle a lot of the posts...and on lots of them, I'm the third or four person to give my view. But the great thing about a forum is people have the advantage of getting lots of responses and sorting them out for themselves. I often beg people to chime in with their take on a situation.

3. If I was the others I'd just not bother coming here to try and help because your a one man band.

Thankfully, you aren't the others. Most regulars have a very good sense of self worth and esteem and are happy to be here with me. They've said so. Many are my very dear friends.

There are a lot of people all over the world who have experienced what these posters have experienced first hand and have lots of great information to offer. The objective is to help them and to give them as wide a range of advice as possible for them to consider.

4. You get pretty touchy when your advice is questioned dontcha?

Not at all. The only thing is I hate for a thread to get into a debate situation. Once in a while they get really harsh, way off the point, etc. It would be nicest if all the advice, no matter how different, was directed towards the person who needs it. When it starts getting into a debate over each other's position, I don't think that's real productive. However, I have been enlightened by those kinds of posts as well. And I think there are some people who just enjoy the critic role, which is fine.

I only get pretty touchy when I don't get enough to eat at lunch time...and then, the touchiness doesn't actually begin until around 3:30p.m.

4. They should rename this place Tonys Shack.

No, I think Love Shack is a great name. And we've been getting more and more visitors every week. It's great. I used to live in kind of a shack and I really liked it because the property taxes were less and I knew people liked me for me and not for where I lived. Here, some people get upset because they think I own the shack and I really don't. On a mediume where there are more than 100 million subscribers, there's bound to be a couple who just don't like to see my posts appear often. But any of those 100 million people are welcome to post here as often as they like. What's a guy gonna do?

I do get lots of compliments. Probably 25 of them to one post that asks me to get a life. For me personally, giving my time here is a form of service to others. I think everybody ought to engage in some of that if they are able, but I don't kick their butt if they don't.

5. Just isn't healthy for a grown man to spend this much time here.

I agree. I don't spend all that much time here. It just appears that I do from your perspective. On some days, I'm only in front of the computer once, for less than a half hour, all day long. On other days, like the day before Napster may shut down, I may be here a bit more. It also appears that the President spends an awful lot of time on TV, yet what you see are just small snippets from many small parts of his day.

It also may help you understand that I have a television on my computer, hooked up to cable. It's a program from ATI Multimedia. Sometimes, I just put it on to a program I want to listen to, minimize it, download from Napster, surf the net, take phone calls, phone friends, have a snack, and answer posts...all at once. Come watch sometime.

6. Get outside , get off the computer and go get yourself a life instead of dwelling on everyones life here.

First, I always get off the computer after I finish. That's sort of the sensible thing to do. I chat personally with a few people who post here and they can tell you that I rarely chat for long...I sign off and get away to do things. The great thing about Napster is you can select the songs you want to download, and just leave.

Fact is, I know that many people who come here to visit and who participate in a lot of other forums having to do with love and lots of other things on the Internet. This forum is the only one I frequent so it may appear that I stay on here more than others, who actually are in front of their computer much more than myself. I very much enjoy the time I spend here.

I don't really dwell on people's lives except for the time I'm writing to them. I don't ever think of any one post, even the most bizarre ones, after I'm done answering it.

And I don't even get upset when people dwell on my life and try to tell me how to live it.

But I do give a "Hootie" about you or I wouldn't have responded to you.
