Learnt something important today

Recommended Posts

My mother caught a flight from uk to Kuala Lumpur yesterday. It was routine flight the kind of which millions take every year. I woke up this morning and a plane had been shot down (or missiled facts are not yet clear) over Ukraine. The same time as my mum was flying.

She was on a flight one hour before the one that went down, the same airline the same flight route, everything, but she arrived in KL safely.

While Im desperately relieved I'm also devastated for those who lost people on that flight. Its made me realise how fragile life is, how you can quit smoking, quit alcohol, eat healthily, never commit a crime, live a clean altruistic life, and still simply by chance die suddenly, through no fault of your own.

I spend a lot of time feeling bad about my lot in life, things I have gone through, yet dont get out and there and enjoy it as much as I should, I live fearful, and that in turn prevents me from living the life I want. From now on I want to just be grateful for every day, stop trying to control things I have no control over, and ENJOY, because life is for living.

My deepest condolences and thoughts are with those who have been affected by this tragedy.

Its bad, but in a few days there will be another tragedy, then another etc.

And these are only the ones we hear about.

This is the world we live in.

So what do we take from it?

I think your line...

"I spend a lot of time feeling bad about my lot in life, things I have gone through, yet dont get out and there and enjoy it as much as I should, I live fearful, and that in turn prevents me from living the life I want."

...says it all. We all need to live and enjoy life in remembrance of all the people that can't. And whenever we have an opportunity to help those less fortunate than ourselves, make the effort.

And don't worry, there will still be too may pessimists and haters left out there to balance out any good you do.:)

But at least when you die, you'll know you lived.

I think you need a little self-acceptance training.

When you are fearful - be yourself.

When you are shy - be yourself.

When you are nervous - be yourself.

When in doubt - be yourself.

When all else fails - be yourself.

Don't worry about those who may not like or accept you for you.

They can go fly a kite. I like you and I don't even know you :).
