swollen lymphnodes...raise your hands if u do?

Just a general survey i guess to see how common this is...who has lymphnodes they can feel in their neck that I guess u would say are slightly enlarged cause u can feel em?...maybe only people ho worry with them feel them more...which is me...

 

I have many and im so concerned with them I have seen the doctor and it is the hypocondriac in me taht thinks im dying of lymphoma...hahaha...but anyways just a survey!

Mine always swell when I'm sick. And it HURTS. My mom has non-hodgkins lymphoma, so I always try to keep an eye on them. Also, you have lymph nodes everywhere. Are your groin lymph glands swollen too? Tonsilar glands swollen? You've got some in your arms and underarms too. Try not to focus just on the neck ones....they'll swell when you have an infection in your upper body, but pay attention to the other ones too.

no just my neck...none anywhere else im obsessed with checking them i am absolutly terrified i have cancer...isnt that horrible...it takes away from me having fun soemtimes cause i focus on worrying...im sorry to hear about your mom i hope she feels better soon

Go get your blood checked if you are that worried. There are certain levels in your blood that are signs of cancer.

Worst case scenario, they can aspirate it (ouch). I had one that was swollen for months and that was my next option.

oh i have had all that and the specialist i just dunno nothing can get rid of my being scared about it

did yor mother have many swollen nodes if u dont mind me asking?

She had them in her arms. And she had them removed, she's got pretty big scars, a lot of them.

 

Can I ask you a question? Do you pick at your scalp or have sores on your scalp? That's a common culprit for inflamed glands in that area, especially if you can't link it to anything else.

Lymphadinitis is just an inflammation of the lymphnodes due to a cut or rash or just a infection they are trying to ward off beacuse that is what our lymph system does.

 

I had a friend who under went the kife with one on the right side of her neck only to find out it was just chronic inflammation. All the money and out of work after the experts told her it was just a lymph node inflammation!

Hey hey whoa...I have my lymphnodes swollen all the time on my neck and I do have a slight itchy scab on the bottom of my scalp on the part that connects the end of the hairline to the neck and can't figure out why I have that.

 

I know I have allergies and get little rashes from products from time to time but this scab is just out of nowhere and I can't explain it.

 

Mines swell all the time especially worse when I am sick. To the point that if you look at my neck you can see them popping out. I have been scared but they always go down in swelling after a while so I dont worry about it.

actually my dermo said I have psorisis on my scalp not bad but its there....the nodes are squishy or whatever not hard....and in teh sides of my neck and throat area....is this a commona rea of scalp problem to pop up?

ya i guess its common i have no idea why it freaks me out.....i dont know anyone that has had lymphoma....weird.

i dont pick...they have been there for probably about 8 monthes to a year some of them and some 5 years

I have psorisis too and atopic dermatitis and I hate freaking cold sore. I wonder if its all related????

maybe they are...my dr said if u have some acne u could get a swollen node...

do u have one or a few EC? where are they located?

Both my nodes get swollen on my neck really bad but the right one is the one that swells the worst. And it hurts and i constantly feel on it with my fingers freaking out. But then the swelling goes away and I relax. But usually when they are swollen I am sick, or getting sick, then I get headaches and ear aches.

Yup I feel them right now and I am not sick but they are just always swollen. And yet I went to the doctor when they were really swollen and I was sick and he felt my neck and just said " slight inflamation of the nodes" SLIGHT wtf they were HUGE!!

 

So then I thought maybe I am making it more than what it is.??? I sunno but know I see you have psorisis too and sores..so I'm wondering if it's all connected?

you prob. just have a weaker immune system, which would account for all the viral/ bact. infections you get. and the nodes may just work over time making them swollen or bigger most the time.

 

But is they are always swollen, then how do you even know what the normal size is? maybe you just have more prominant nodes?

mine in my neck are always kinda tender when i press them, but they are not swollen.

perhaps! I can see it being a connection...cause isnt psorisis and immune related things and lymphnodes are immune related or something like that....im just scared I have lymphoma...im such a geek

huh maybe that is true...cause maybe i thought they are bigger but i never really felt for them until i became worried about cancer after my mom passed so maybe they are normal size....that is a thought.

Your absolutely right it all comes down to your immune system. Mine is horrible. That explains things. I am actually taking vitamins for the immune system hopefully it will help me.

I just wish i could get rid of the cancer fear that the worst part...

green tea has a ton of antioxidants, which are known to prevent cancer!

I have swollen lymphnodes only its like a permanent problem that never goes away... They usually swell under my arms and in my wrists to like the size of marbles and sometimes they get filled with puss and blood... i guess you could say mine is more of a serious case. I took antibiotics for it, goes away, and comes back once is top taking the antibotics. And i also found out that using deoderant like rightguard and stuff makes it infected. So i use natural remedies. Im allergic to most scented stuff like shampoo, deoderant, and some colognes and perfumes.
