Once it's sold and the proceeds are divided, that's usually it. Say for example the lawyer thinks you should get 75% of the house money because you need to provide a house for your child... but if you've already sold the house and split it 50/50 then you're basically screwed and can't get the 75%, it's too late. DO NOT sell the house or divide any other assets until after you've seen a lawyer!! 1 Link to post Share on other sites

Not much equity in it. So I am not worried at all about that. I have just obtained a lawyer but there isn't really anything else to split. Link to post Share on other sites
