I woke up this morning to talk radio reports about a four year study the US government is funding to determine why 75% of lesbians are obese while gay men are not. The implication is clear. You don't have to meet the present social definition of attractive to attract women while men, even gay men need that attractiveness factor more to get them to act, to pursue a relationship. It reminds me of when the subject of homosexuality came on up a Pinoy board I am on it is said that men really like seeing lesbians together, as often happens. However someone started actually naming the out of the closet Filipino celebrity lesbians and suddenly the porn fantasy girls image disappeared and when comfronted with real life examples lesbian sex lost it hotness factor among many in the thread Thats easy to explain. They may be fat, but they still have a soft femininity about them. A lot of men even bodybuilding men are in love with or even prefer healthy women. I hate to point out the obvious, but a lot of times when a woman is overweight, it goes to her thighs, breasts, and azz. More cushion for the pushin. Fat doesnt lay so well on most male bodies. Of course, gay men arent going to want fat men unless theyre rich. Maybe men are sportier than men so finding a buff man is easier to find than a buff woman. Some unattractive, fat lesbians can and do date hot skinny women, eg Rosie Odonnell. Rosie can get away with it because she has clout and $$$$. The same goes for the women in the Officers club going for fighter pilots in the movies. How many of those women will drool after the hot tank turret mechanic? On a way that was my point. Square faces and chiseled muscles are not part of their recruitment and assessment programs. Army Green Berets in particular being veteran soldiers, unlike straight from the Naval Academy football team Navy SEALs, before they are recruited tend more towards a middle distance runners physique than John Rambo in real life. Oh yes and lets not forget that some gay men have alternative relationships which could put him in competition with other men. Stereotypically lesbians and straight peopke are more monogamous. This 30 year old man working wherever is 6'2, square faced, and has a god like body. A lot of women are going to be attracted to him. What exactly are we debating here? Why's she gotta be ugly on the inside or a bottom feeder? Maybe, despite their differing appearances, their personalities really resonate with each other. Maybe they make each other very happy. Why does everyone seems to forget that sometimes one human just really likes another human? THANK YOU. This was what I was going to post, and now I don't have to retype all that. Part of it IS confidence - the confidence to just keep trying to make connections with women. If you keep fishing, eventually you'll catch one. The confidence that you are worthy and deserving of being loved, so that when you do catch one, you are mature and capable enough to build a strong foundation for a relationship. Part of it is connection - something about you just resonates with something about someone else. Part of it is that looks are subjective. Maybe there are women out there who think bowlegged-pitbull-looking-guys are gorgeous. Just because YOU think he's ugly doesn't mean he is ugly to her. And yes, a sense of humor helps. If someone feels good and light and happy and laughing around you, it makes sense that they want to be around you more. If you carry a cloud of Eeyore-energy around everywhere you go, you are going to repel people. I get that the easy thing is just to say "I am ugly and that's why I can't get a woman". Because ugly isn't something you control. You can't do anything about ugly. So you can just continue to wallow and complain and get bitter. But it ain't about the ugly. I deal with a lot of people from all walks of life...Part of my business is dealing with people that buy VERY expensive items...Ive brokered deals that involved tattooed guys that look like they just got out of prison purchase "toys" in excess of 500K...You come to find out that this guy owns his own manuafacturing firm and does 100M/year.. Conversely, i know guys with expensive stuff, dressed nicely, yet they are one step ahead of the repo man... Now...It doesnt mean it all boils down to success/money...but if the guy is a nice guy and is successful and wealthy, but looks rugged and "undesirable" or "shady" it just means that is how he carries himself and doesnt give a shyt what the rest of the world thinks....and he doesnt have to....Many women find huge appeal in that type of man.. Also..one persons attractive is another persons dog...Me? I dont see what women find so appealing about 140 lb guys that look like women, but thats me...Many women find that incredibly appealing...
