What's makes a man?

I agree a man is a man when he takes responsibility for himself and others.

I also feel a man is a man when he owns up to his mistakes and is humble when he takes credit for his good work. A man is a man when he knows how to respect himself and others. A man is a man when he has learned manners and can treat a woman like a lady.

Sadly, I have not known as many real men as I would like, but I can post a small checklist of some qualities of the men I have known that I admired.

Intelligence

Humility

Loyalty

Gentle

Strength of character

Neatness in appearance and hygiene

Fiscal responsibility

Kindness

Ability to discern times for seriousness and silliness

This post is begging for some snarky answer...

Difference between a boy and man.. Hmm. Boy = under 5'7" and 130lbs. Man = over 5'7" and much more than 130lbs.

Boy = "Likes hip hop". Man = "Kenny Loggins".

Boy = "dude, she's hot. Is she hot? I want someone hot. DUDE. Is she hot?"

Man = What? I'm sorry.. I'll get back to you on that. I got to pick up the kids at 4. Go home.. just, go home man...

Boy = Me

Man = Whoever is responding to this with a serious answer

Boy = Under 18 years old?

Man, usually over 21. Depending on race, some it's about 33.

Boy = Likes girls.

Man = Likes women.

Boy = That little pubic goatee thing.

Man = Santa Claus

Sorry... I am super super bored and this question was just reeking for some snarkiness. I need to go be a man now.. BTW, chick 9 posts up, HOT.

A man is wise through experience and intelligence and knows how to behave appropriately in different situations.

He has experience of life and of its difficulties.

He understands he needs to earn his own living and works hard.

He has a good reputation amongst his friends, who are also decent people.

He has self-control.

He is respectful to women and protective towards children.

He knows when serious action, such as fighting or judging, is necessary and considers his options as carefully as time will allow. He is decisive when he knows he has to be.
