We've had some new faces show up to our events, but they usually wind up being one-shot wonders and stuff. Talked to a male friend of mine as this is just a regular "Social Club" of sorts that do ALL kinds of activities. Apparently, there had been complaints or "Non-returns" because some people had gotten out of bad relationships/divorces...so are really just wanting to make friends, but minus the whole "Getting hit on by men" thing. So these ladies tend to shy away from the groups altogether and just hang out with co-workers or whoever they've met organically. So it seems while women are recovering from divorces or bad break-ups and attempt to transition into the world of "Being Single", its hard to do so when you have men trying to " hit them up " at the events. Ironically 4 marriages have formed in our Meetup circle, so something came from "hitting on a woman" at the events, but chances are these newly married people or those that developed new relationships weren't carrying post-marital baggage. That being said, it's kind of a damned if you do/ damned if you don't situation, yes? No? Link to post Share on other sites
