Being like a paranormal detective when it comes to reading buying signals

Recommended Posts

Seems like dating and being able to read buying signals from a woman I feel like a paranormal cop.

It is a good analogy. The first step in a paranormal investigation is to find natural explanations first. Some signs of paranormal activity can be explained away for more natural things. Lights flickering on and off may have something to do with aging wire connections and so forth. We don't bring in any EVP equipment at this stage of investigation.

This is analogous to dating when a woman gives off some buying signals but often times those signals can be explained away for friendliness or politeness or perhaps she just has a flirty touchy personality towards everyone and doesn't mean she is interested.

A strong signal of interest that can't be explained away would be like getting strong evidence that something is very likely paranormal in the house.

So anytime you hear me say on this forum that I have found a legitimate haunting it is code for I have resolved beyond reasonable doubt that this woman is interested in me sexually. I haven't found convincing evidence of a haunting yet but I will keep everyone posted.

Why do you need to speak to US in code?

I think an easier metaphor would be a flame. That's what love is usually compared to, a flame, fire, burning desire. Anyway, if you have a campfire outside, sometimes it is difficult to get the fire started. You have to tend the minutest of sparks to get the fire to start. If conditions aren't right, too wet, too windy, no kindling, you won't be able to start a fire.

Assuming you can get a flame to burn, then the next question becomes "how quickly will the flame progress into a fire?" That of course depends on the amount of kindling, and the suitability of the fuel to take the limited heat generated by the flame fueled by kindling and absorb enough of it to create a fire from flame. Of course, the weather always changes, and there is wetness, wind and other factors to contend with.

As the flame burns, you soon learn what kind of fuel you're dealing with. Does the fire rage and burn out quickly, as if an accelerent were being used, or is the fuel long-lasting? Does it produce much smoke or little? Acrid or aromatic? Is it hot, or comfortably warm? Then there's the ever changing weather, rain, wind, etc.

Are you the spark, the kindling or the fuel? What about the woman? What is she? And what are the elements of the environment, the rain, the wind, etc. What does the smoke represent? And the smell? What is that?

It is not mysterious... rather, it is complicated, but that doesn't mean that it is unintelligible or indecipherable. Granted, if you're a city boy, you might have trouble building a controllable fire. But that doesn't mean that it is not within your reach.

That other paranormal nonsense? Nobody understands that. It is hocus-pocus, and I think it is quite telling that you've chosen this symbol to represent the interaction between a man and a woman.

Switch to fire. It is not easily explained, but even the cavemen learned to master fire.

So can you.

I'm a little confused on how your analogy works here....

Anywho, so I gather you're gonna let us know when you've made progress with your co-worker?

Yeah if I ever get activity that I can't explain away. Anything that can't be explained away needs further investigation and that's what this forum is here for. To be able to run any new developments with some of the members.
