iceisles
Is there any truth to this remedy I heard? It seems odd that tootpaste would do the trick, but I'm willing to try it. If you've had any success with this, definitelty let me know.
LucreziaBorgia
I've read that the white pasty kind works better than gels. It works for some people but not all. As for myself, sometimes it has worked well and other times it just made it even "angrier".
tiki
I don't know, I've heard it though. You can also use hemorrhoid cream (decreases the redness and swelling).
Pocky
I used toothpaste in my twenties. Seemed to work for me.
moimeme
Worked for me, too.

The fluoride or something. what a joke MOIMEME. acne and pimples are caused by bacterial infections of the skin caused by hormoneal changes and other causes. Last time I checked flourine, flouride, flourinal, whatever does not cure bacterial infections. If it did you'd be taking that instead of penicillin or ampicillin or whatever "cillin" to cure all your bacterial infections. When was last time your M.D. prescribed tablets of Fluorine to cure your UTI or bronchitis? Fluoride, what a joke. Most peoples drinking water has flouride in it and I dont' see any decrease in pimples or acne among the teenage population.
moimeme
Chill. It was a guess. WHATEVER it is, if you have a zit and stick toothpaste on it, it dries up overnight. Like it or lump it. Throw whatever theories you like around about why you think it won't work. It works.
Ms_Sweetness
It has worked for me as well.
jellybean
Okay, I'm gonna remain open-minded......I have conducted my own unscientific experiment tonight....I applied Arm and Hammer 'sensitive' brand to a doozie I have on my chin currently. I will report back with the results/improvement - if it works. I can imagine how thrilled and excited all Shackers will be to hear all about jellybean's zit.

toyo
I dont think toothpaste works too well. I've tried it before and sometimes it gets better, and sometimes it gets worse. Its not the floride thats supposed to cure the pimple but the toothpaste is supposed to dry it out I think. Try using clean & clear blackhead scrub and then the clean & clear continuous control scrub. I've been using these two for a while now and had the best results with them. moimeme
Nobody was suggesting toothpaste as a regular face cleanser It's just an emergency fix if an unexpected zit pops up. If you've got acne, yes, you need a more thorough regimen.
toyo
I wasnt suggesting using it as a daily cleanser either. Your face would probably get really dry but it'll be minty fresh
