Men: Could you live off a woman?

To be honest, most men I know would not want to be a SAHD.

I don't think it's necessarily related to control, though. In my culture it's fairly common (not in all cases, but common enough that no one bats an eye) for the wife to control the finances, even if the husband is the breadwinner - some men actually prefer it that way because they don't want to have to think about the household/childcare expenses or do any related shopping for it. So their paycheck goes into the family account, and they get a portion of it as their 'allowance' - the rest is managed by the wife. I think their reason for not wanting to be a SAHD was just because they didn't like the idea of being at home taking care of the baby all day and doing all of the chores.

Re: the control issue, I'd think that if a couple were married and one partner was staying home to take care of the kids, there would be no need for the SAHD/M to 'ask money' from their spouse for anything, as there would be joint accounts or agreements in place.
