Braids w/ extensions..how long do they last???

So have any of you girls had hair extensions in your hair? Last night I had a friend of mine who's a hair stylist braid my hair in tiny braids and added extensions..I have long hair anyway (down to the middle of my back) but with these my hair comes down to my butt and is a lot thicker.

 

 

My question is...how long do they last in your hair? She gave me the instructions of how to take care of them but didn't tell me how long they could stay in. Anybody know?

I have never gotten braids but I heard that you can keep them up to 3 weeks or until they look nasty My cousin got them done once and she took them off within 2 days because she said it itched like a b*tch!!!! So she wasted all that money for nothing. She said she was not allowed to put shampoo on her hair and that she felt dirty.

Wow..no shampoo? I was told to just be very gentle when washing/drying! Yes they do itch and pull a little but they are so cute!! Luckily I didn't pay anything but 30 plus the hair which was like 10 bucks or so...really cheap and for me anyway it's worth it.

 

 

Thanks...I was thinking about 3-4 weeks but wasn't sure...I guess it will depend on how they look...if they start to look "frayed" or something they're coming out.

I'm sure they look nice $40 is sooooo cheap, my cousin paid about $160!!!!!!

Thanks...and yeah around here in a salon it would have been $250 plus hair. I was shocked when I saw her do one of her neices' hair...they are such tiny professional looking braids I was amazed! So I asked her to do mine..and viola!

I got my Ex hair extensions for chirstmas and they where almost $1000 and they only last like 6 months,lol. But she wanted them so bad, I guess the guy she was seeing on the side liked girls with long hair,lol.

 

But they where glued in and she could wash her hair.

 

I have no idea if that helps or not, but just thought I would share.
