I wanted to clarify that the post is intended for women who get a boob job for vanity purposes. The insecure concern for how others see them and how they enjoy the attention again when prancing around their new found "ladies". lol.

Not doing it because one got a mastectomy or other health reasons. But for the usual case of aesthetics.

Right. From the way you phrase it, you're judging them, and not really curious as to their reasons for it at all.

I'm guessing Anela meant that if you feel you get negative attention for something over which you have no control - being short - you can try to relate to what it would feel like for getting negative attention for something else over which a woman has no control - having a certain chest size. And then, if you could have surgery to correct that something, about which you've been anxious and unhappy your whole life and has made you terribly self-conscious, then perhaps you would.

I know that a possible response to this would be that you can only see large boobs as a good thing. If so, sigh. But it's a thought exercise that might provoke empathy for why someone might make a bodily alteration that has provided a lot of personal unhappiness, so worth putting out there, anyway.

I still can't relate.

I've never received negative attention. I've just been mostly ignored. So I at least know what it's like to be a flat chested girl :p

Flat chested women are not just ignored. They get teased, ridiculed, abused,.... just as you proved above.

So flat chested women get teased, ridiculed, abused? And busty women get teased, ridiculed, abused?

Then can't you just say that women in general get teased, ridiculed, abused?

As a woman with a modestly sized, but proportional figure, I've never gotten any comments on my breasts specifically (except from partners).

I consider that a HUGE blessing. Unless we're in a sexual relationship with you,

women generally don't want comments about their breasts.

So there is a Goldilocks zone with breasts were people just don't care and won't say anything?

I guess I'm "just right" ;)

And, I've never had any desire to change my size. I can't imagine having attention because of my breasts specifically as an improvement in my life.

Its not the breast size.....its the woman....

Some are completely content with bee stings and others are humiliated by their 36DD's.-and vice versa..Some guys are happy to be short, some guys hate to be tall...and vice versa,

Let them figure out whats best for them and their lives without worrying about what they want or what the other gender thinks is "ideal"

TFY

I'm not judging them. The person I was talking about was complaining about the argument coming from a person, who already loves being the center of attention, that takes issue with men who like her for her boobs, when she got it because she was an over 40 woman who had a childhood issue of peer pressure impacting her decision to get an enhancement.

I mean, come on, grow up...forget about those people who made fun of you for having a smaller chest.

She let them GET to her and she caved.

Now...she went from one extreme to the next.

How many people on this thread actually have any first hand knowledge of breast surgery?

I am surprised by the number of people waxing expert on it without any knowledge. Nor do I see the big deal. My sister decided to go up in size, surgery wasn't a major deal (had her nose done as well maybe that was for sexual product as well? ) and the nose had more issues than the breast surgery in regards to recovery.

I see it no different than any other cosmetic surgery, tattoo, piercing, etc. You want it, can afford it, go crazy. This "loving yourself" is ridiculous. We change pieces about ourselves all the time.

I do. Not sure if I've posted my qualifications, but 12 years assisting in surgery. I've seen over muscle salines popped in in 45 minutes with barely a drop of blood.

I was in and out myself in an hour, sub pectoral silicone. As with anything, the biggest risk is going under anesthesia. Recovery was a breeze, after the first 24 hours. Back at work in a week.

I'm with you. My body, my money, my decision. Thank you!

I have some heavy ink. A tattoo takes only a couple of weeks to heal. My cousin had a nose job, it took months to see results, but she went to work a couple of days later. I don't know about breast surgery.

I'm not entirely convinced that women who get breasts enlargements don't really do it 100% for themselves, she has to be doing it in order to attract men to a CERTAIN extent, right?

It started with "women" in general lying about their motives for surgery.

I'm not judging them.

Not judging as immature liars who are weak and cave in to pressures from others.

ignore the many insights that knowledgable women who have "been there done that.." have kindly provided. At the end of the day, its none of your business what other people do with their body. Especially "some girl at a pool party." If you refuse to understand or make any attempt to empathise then the discussion is pretty much concluded.

Ok, so it is fair for you to judge women that you dont even know for their decision to get breast surgery. But it's not fair for a woman to judge men based on how they treat their boobs, for example random groping, verbal abuse, sexual abuse or harassment? That seems to be what you are saying.

Um, I do know her, I dated her at one time. So I have gotten to know her as she was saying on how OTHER people have said to her she's kind of an attention seeker on Facebook and at other venues. She loves being the center of attention...and I agreed with her (well actually agreeing with her friends/peers). In that case, I doubt agreeing with her would be judging.
