Would You Date An Obese Woman?

Recommended Posts

Honestly, I'm a bit annoyed hearing a couple of men on hear harp on weights and labeling these women as obese therefore effectively taking them off the market.

When it comes to women in particular and their weight or dress size, no two women look alike even if they are the same height. Breasts account for a good bit of weight if you have them, thighs and hips another bit, small boned vs big boned makes a huge difference, and on and on. Women carry more fat then men and we distribute weight very differently depending on our body shapes determined by genetics.

Sitting there and judging women by the number that flashes on a scale or the dress size she's wearing is just ridiculous not to mention cruel and tells me just how superficial some men can be.

Who says skinny women are healthy and/or active anyway? Or that heavier women are lazy and undisciplined? Just because a woman may be thin by societal standards doesn't necessarily mean she is healthy or even active. I've known plenty of skinny minnies who live off junk food and get seriously winded unloading their car of groceries! And the reverse for heavier women.

If you're not aesthetically attracted to a woman who carries a bit of meat on her bones no matter her number, that's fine but to sit there and box up all women as "fat" or "obese" based on a dress size of weight alone is just sad.

End of rant.

Wow...down girl, down! Where did you read, a person say all that malarkey? You are making a lot of exaggerated points, which could either be stemming from personal experience, or you just think all men think this way?????

As a man, I'll be the first to tell you that it does look silly to me when I see a man with a huge gut walking next to a woman i.e. looking like he is pregnant. At the same time, when I see a woman with a large tummy who clearly isn't pregnant holding a XXL large cup of coffee/ smoothie, I can't help but think it's self inflict.

Anyway....I understand all the big bones business, and yes genetics accounts for certain things. I personally like a woman with slight hips, a backside that isn't more than 2 x the size of mine, and bulges out a bit. Think of that song wiggle wiggle...what you going to do with that big fat butt

I am not a boobs man, and if it isn't smaller or average looking, then am usually not interested.

Not talking about sex, but I'm not talking about sky diving either. It doesn't have to be anything extreme. It could be mini golf or a movie..I don't care. As long as we're not sitting in the house all day doing nothing.

Like I said, I prefer a guy with a belly, so hardcore athletes or extreme sports enthusiasts aren't really my type. But that's just me.

Sorry...didn't realize min gold and watching a movie at home / cinema was an activity. Thanks for the clarification, and just so you know, I am far from extreme and instead have things on my bucket list.

I know women with belly usually like belly on men because then they cancel each other out.

If you listen to some people in this thread overweight women are the healthy ones, and the smaller framed women are the un-fit ones. Typical. I don't know any obese men who do well with women, and that's ok, but a real man should dig a larger lady. Right?

There was a point in time when I allowed myself to gain a ridiculous amount of weight too, but I didn't make any excuses for myself at least.

A guy can turn a woman off by not saying the right thing, not paying for dinner, not being tall enough, not being confident enough, ect, but we can't be too judgmental with obese women. Gotcha.

Yep.. that's the name of the game. Only women are allowed to be judgmental.

I love it.

I wonder how many would consider this model fat or too big.

Not me - nice curves .

NSFW - naked but bits covered by hands.

This ^ is just a few extra and shaped really nicely. She shouldn't have any shortage of men lining up to get with her. I don't think this thread is about women like this. Here's something more ideal for obese. http://missrosen.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/screen-shot-2013-07-27-at-11-20-16-am.png

Yes I see your point - and I understand the difference and intent of your thread.

But as you read from at least one male poster, the image I linked, he said "the woman should drop 50 and be ashamed" or something to this affect.

People like what they like, and again I also think it is relative. At my height and build I would worry about breaking any gal size 8 or smaller if I got a little rough in the bedroom. :o:laugh:

Preferences are preferences I guess. I do prefer a gal to be active, which I acknowledge and know can be an issue when weight goes up - particularly with age.

Was just one poster though. He might be skinny as a twig, good looking enough and able to be that picket, or someone like my fat bald friend with bad teeth who's expectations are too high for even myself.

Yeah, she is borderline obese. She's much too big for me.

BTW, I think it's funny that there is a quote from Marilyn Monroe on the picture when Marilyn had a completely different body.

Well, I gotta admit when that 190lbs hit my chest after a good orgasm it did take my breath away. However, with a rear view like this, I suffered.... ;)

Like anything in life, dating or being married to a big woman is a mixed bag. No real complaints here, about the size stuff anyway.

Please don't do that again...I nearly fried my keyboard with the Earl grey I was drinking  There was no need for a slit on that dress at all.

I always heard fat girls are like mopeds. Fun to ride but you don't want your friends to catch you on one.

Oh dear...I have heard it all now :lmao:

My ex was morbidly obese. I have also dated some overweight guys.

That being said, I will never date an obese guy ever again. My ex was always complaining of pain and about his weight and it just made me realise that that is not the kind of person I want in my life.

A bit overweight, yeah, sure. But full on obese? No thanks.

People always forget that dating is about sexual attraction. Friendship is about personality.

The ideal situation is finding someone you are sexually attracted to who you can also be friends with. That's probably what love is.

Ha, but Jen (Tilly) is all about making you spew. It's her way :D. However, I'm loathe to cause the waste of Earl Grey so do apologize for that!

Best description of dating I've ever read.

I was married to her for a decade so apparently I didn't mind either, rather was just commenting on the feeling of it.

Apologies.

Last time I checked in academia circles, "wikipedia" (which can be edited by anybody), isn't reputable source of reference.

Sorry, missed this. Evidently, the published formula and tables have some history and are compiled and published by the World Health Organization

BMI
Main article: Body mass index
Body mass index or BMI is a simple and widely used method for estimating body fat mass.[8] BMI was developed in the 19th century by the Belgian statistician and anthropometrist Adolphe Quetelet.[9] BMI is an accurate reflection of body fat percentage in the majority of the adult population. It however is less accurate in people such as body builders and pregnant women.[10] A formula combining BMI, age and gender can be used to estimate a person's body fat percentage to an accuracy of 4%.[11] An alternative method, body volume index (BVI), is being developed in an effort to better take into account different body shapes.[12]

BMI	Classification
< 18.5	underweight
18.5–24.9	normal weight
25.0–29.9	overweight
30.0–34.9	class I obesity
35.0–39.9	class II obesity
≥ 40.0 class III obesity
BMI is calculated by dividing the subject's mass by the square of his or her height, typically expressed either in metric or US "Customary" units:

The most commonly used definitions, established by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1997 and published in 2000, provide the values listed in the table

Classification of obesity - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

I guess we could debate the veracity of the WHO but that would be departing from the topic of whether or not one would date an obese woman and I already answered that I married one, so I guess we're done.

I would never date an obese girl, nor would I date one that is a bit over weight... She has to by physically capable of running at least 800yards without gasping for air. Sorry if that's offensive
