Saw a booger fall into a person's food.

Recommended Posts

I feel a bit guilty for not speaking up but I really couldn't because the next server behind the counter asked me for my order.

Guy who bought the booger sandwich took it to go and left quick so I didn't catch him. It was a pretty big booger that almost turned me off from eating at the place itself.

At least my server didn't have extra bodily toppings.

What would you have done?

I would starve myself, until I got home.

Probably wouldn't have told the customer, I mean even the FDA allows for some "defects."

I was hoping he wasn't going to be my server. I wouldn't have paid for the booger sandwich.

I'm not sure if I understand the set-up - was it a fast food place? - but if there was no question at all about what I saw, there's a good chance I'd say "Hey - something just dropped into that food!" and straighten it out. I also wouldn't order there, I'd just go home. Once I went to a burrito place and saw the cook sneeze and wipe his nose on his sleeve (probably some got on the food too), and he didn't look too well, and I just went home. That was an open kitchen, so anyone could see who was cooking.

As someone who has worked in the kitchen of a restaurant( a nice one, no less). I can honestly say that an errant booger is the least of your worries...

I always tell people when they dining out to never complain about the taste/quality of the food and never send anything back to the kitchen...Just leave it there, say you werent hungry, pay the check, and never go back there again...

Good advice. I've heard from some in the restaurant business who tell you not to complain to the kitchen unless it's a blatant mistake in the order.
