Husband thinking about kids?

Recommended Posts

I married my husband in July. We have been together about 2 years.. He is from Costa Rica and doesn't want to change much about life until he goes back to his country in January... when we get back, we plan to start house hunting, and he is going to open up his own business. He doesn't even want to have a dog yet as he calls it the same thing as having a kid, and doesn't want to change anything until we get our home.

I totally respect that, understand, and agree!

I'm not sure if I am looking into this too much, but whenever my mom comes over, he always tries to imply that I am pregnant around her as a joke (this started in July when everybody thought I was pregnant at our wedding, in some of our wedding pics it kind of looked like it!) so he always says that I am eating for two, or not to work out too hard at the gym, just being funny.

Last week, he was saying "when I have my kids, I am going to teach them spanish"

and then, this morning I was looking for one of his papers, he was on the phone, and I couldn't find it.. he said, "its not like we have kids where they took it and it just disappeared. its around there somewhere".

Am I overthinking this? or is he just bringing it up too much lately? I would like to have kids in about a year or two, once we have our home.. (i am 25, he is 32) and im not sure how i would bring it up..

It's understandable your husband may be thinking about kids since he's older. Maybe his parents are putting pressure on him to start a family. I am also 25 and my husband is almost 31. I know he would like to have kids also, but we have talked about it many times. He knows I don't want kids until my 30's and he's perfectly fine with being an older parent. You should have a serious discussion with your husband about this as well. Also make it clear that the pregnancy jokes need to stop.
