That I go for an interview they absolutely promise (Yeah, we will definitely call you back, we are not like others who doesnt call) and actually they end up not calling. Is it really so hard to say that sorry you are not compatible? Hmm. I have a job, but just I just remembered that they promised to call, but they did not. What do you think? Thanks Take care! todreaminblue Posted November 1, 2014 Share Posted November 1, 2014 sometimes people only do what they are obligated to do ....some times so many people apply for one job that it would be an inconvenience and a financial issue to call everyone back.....so they call the person who got the job and thats it......i think the best way to handle this sort of scenario is to know you did your very best in the interview as you always do......and if they dont call you back know that you did your best but there was someone better who got the job....and move on to the next interview where again, you do your best that you can do to portray why you are most suited to the job at hand and why you would be an irreplaceable member of the company or business where you want employment....and then hope that is you they choose......no employer is obligated to call back really...some do some dont....thats the way of the world.....so just do you best in every interview......deb 1 Link to post Share on other sites

I always appreciate a follow up call from the interviewees if I get too busy to call them back. I suggest making the follow-up call yourself. Link to post Share on other sites

Sorry, but they made a commitment to call me and over something that's a pretty big deal, too. Neither of the times did I get the job, but on neither of those occasions was me calling back the reason for not getting the job anyway. On one occasion when I was really job hunting like mad at the end of my MA I was promised a call by Monday to let me know if I'd gotten the job or not, and I had another interview MILES away on the Wednesday. They didn't call me Monday so I e-mailed them at the end of the day explaining blah blah really enjoyed the interview interested in working with you etc. I'm attending another interview Wednesday so would love to know your decision so I can make an informed decision myself if I'm offered the other job on Wednesday' They e-mailed me back Tuesday telling me that I didn't get it, with a template letter, after a three hour interview, I asked for feedback and never got any. Wednesday's interview I was told I'd be called on Tuesday with their decision, on Monday they made the call and offered me the job. I knew I didn't want to work for organisation A if that's how they treated people who are potential staff, I was impressed with organisation B sticking to what they said and accepted the job.
