Though in my case I don't want to get used to travelling on my own, if i don't have a reconciliation with my wife, and that looks more and more the case, I will try dating just as soon as I feel up to it, maybe a few months ? Like you I have 2 cats to look after, also a chicken, and now an xbox and the ability to have black Pudding anytime I like, but I just dont like being on my own. I thought my life was over too after 18 yrs (even though my xH affair made me want a divorce). BUT, I did meet someone else, am very very happy and also have a son together with him.
