Kate316
My husband works out of state Monday through Friday, only gets to come home on the weekends. It's been this way for the past 17 months, and will continue for at least another two years. In the past few months, I have had the opportunity to go with him - I've gone with him four times since September, and those have been the best four weeks! I'm really missing him tonight. We talk and text every day, sometimes several times a day if his schedule allows it. He always calls when he gets into bed at night...I love the fact that my voice is the last one he hears before he falls asleep. I want to come up with new ways for us to stay connected...just little ideas to let him know that even though he is away, that I still love him, miss him, and can't wait for him to come home. Any ideas?
DivorcedDad123
I had a gf who used to write me a letter for each day we were away from each other. It wasn't a long drawn out letter, just a short one,but for each day we were apart. She even put the day of the week on the outside,so I'd know which one to open. I have to say it was pretty nice being able to read her handwriting and know that she took the time to do that. You might want to think about something like that. Maybe include a photo of yourself in one of them also. If he likes to read, buy him a book, magazine, etc.,, that he's interested in,for him to read as he lays down before bed. Put a few notes inside, on different pages for him to find as he's reading.
Davey L
Write him letters and mail them to him each day. Youngsters these days never seem to do that, it's all text message, FB etc. and they don't know what they're missing. There's something intimate and personal about receiving a nice handwritten letter. And you'll still have the letters as a memento 10, 20, 50 years later.
