Do you look at compatibility of your potential's horoscope before dating?

Hi, I am not sure whether this is covered by anyway, what do you think of this question? Do you believe in horoscope, take it as a pinch of salt or not buying anything of it?

 

Personally, I do. So far the horoscope about me, I am a Sagittarius, has been mostly true. I probably have a little bit of Scorpio in me and my ex gfs' horoscope have been pretty accurate.

 

However, I won't let this affect me when I am pursuing my potential partner, I take whatever the websites have to comment about the compatibility between my partner and myself and possibly focus more on my weakness so that the relationship would be better. Always looking ways to improve myself too.

Those horoscopes are written in a way that fits in with most people's personalities, hopes and desires.

 

I never know what signs the guys I date are and they are never interested in mine.

For entertainment but to be honest all that stuff has its own interpretation...

 

According to the tarot I should start gambling as I have a big win coming my way... Better remember to get a lotto ticket at some point then!

 

Life is what you make it and how you choose to live it. No fortune teller, using whatever method, can say it is set in stone... Its not.

 

So in answer to your question - no. I struggle remembering when birthdays are let alone figuring out what star sign someone is...

 

Its a giggle nothing more.

I read them the day after for fun to see if they came true. They usually did not.

 

I was with my EX for 12 years. According to horoscopes we were one of of th worst matches in the Zodiac.

You'll never be able to convince me that all people born within a certain period possess the same personality traits. It's entertainment. Someone saw a niche in the market and now people make a living off of others' curiosity. They write horoscopes in such a way that they can apply to anyone. "You will experience change soon." Wow, prophetic. If they were able to tell you anything more specific, like names, dates, times, etc, I'd pay more attention, but they can't, because it's all fake.

 

Two of my best friends and I were born within four days of each other. We're about as different as you can get.

 

That being said, I'm always amazed at how many otherwise intelligent people believe in this stuff.

Funny this was brought up. Recently a woman on POF that I thought a quite few things in common with including matching horoscope signs. I usually don't say anything in my initial message to a woman about our signs...but I made mention of it when she stated in her profile about being loyal, sensitive, hard working, etc. "

 

I wrote to her how we have some significant things that make us a match like us both being Catholic, have no kidsand don't want kids. ...also a few of the same hobbies.

 

Then for fun I threw in that we're both the same sign.

 

Her response dismissed everything we were a match on except that like signs don't work and the only evidence she has of that is her last relationship was with a man of

the same sign and wasn't good.

 

My response was "So being a hard worker, sensitive, and loyal is a bad thing? Lol

 

No response of course

 

I almost said someone who puts THAT much stock in horoscopes should reassess their priorities

I've read plenty interpretations of what kind of traits make up an Aquarius (that's my sign) and although most of what I've read seems to apply, it is generic enough so that almost anyone can fit themselves in one way or another.

 

Bottom line? It's highly entertaining at best but I have never and would never take anything horoscopes have to say seriously.

I think horoscopes are a load of BS. There's a reason they occupy the same page of the newspaper as the cartoons: entertainment purposes only.

I admit that I will never never again date another Capricorn. I realize its nuts and I have made peace with the fact that I’m nuts. They can be lovely people, excellent work colleagues, terrific friends and neighbors, fabulous lovers and husbands for other people, but so help me they have some THING that is an emotional third rail for me and they seem to like me and then the exact same thing happens over and over.

 

Other than that, astrology is BS, crazy, what have you... other than the Capricorn man /Aries woman thing. :laugh:

I do have a look and thinking back actually there has definitely been a strong trait (just one usually) of a sign in each person I have dated.

I also just out of interest look up signs of people I get on with or don't.

 

 

I appear to attract Scorpios and Geminis a lot.

Find good friends in Capricorns.

Generally can have good friendships with (but not the most comfy sometimes with Aries.

 

 

I am a Pisces but I am right on the last day and at night and Pisces is somewhat right about me but in some ways so very not me at all.

 

 

Then again all the timings have apparently changed since the Zodiac was created and there are so many different elements - star, sun etc.

It's all way too baffling for me to bother looking into or take really seriously.

Well my ex and I were perfect matches according to our horoscope's.

 

And she's my ex... ;)
