The entire story is somewhere on the breaking up thread if interested. I have an idea where my ex is but not certain but that's not the problem. Two weeks ago a letter was returned to my address because the post office box it was sent to was closed. Here's the kicker I didn't send the check my ex did and he's still using my address as his return address...so that left me in a state of anger mostly....I was like why is he still using my address etc. I think the main reason is so the loan company on his car won't know where he is...he filed bankruptcy two years ago and his attny said as long as he made his payments on time the loan company would not repose his car...so I figured okay he's conning the loan company. Well after this happened some friends and I did some digging around and I find out that 1) He lied to me about the actual amount he filed for bankruptcy...I helped pay for his attny. 2) I found out that he also had a civil suit filed against him when we were together and he kept from me. So now I'm kicking my self in the ass for spending 4 1/2 years with a man I never really knew! Than two days ago another piece of mail arrives and it's a letter from a credit application that he filled out (yes I opened it.) Of course because of his bad history he was turned down...but WHY is this man still using my address??? He had to give the information to the department store and it WAS MY ADDRESS!! I guess the real thing is that I'm so sickened by the way he's conning everyone, me included. But he never acted like that the 4 1/2 years we were together...well I guess he was but he just did a good job of hiding it. Friends have suggested that I contact him via his son and tell him to stop using my address...I think it's best to just ignore him?? Any suggestions?? Link to post Share on other sites
HoldOn Posted March 16, 2005 Share Posted March 16, 2005 Wow, are you dating my ex? jk. We broke up in 2001. I sued him for money he owed me and he responded by declaring bankruptcy. (Of course). He owes me more than $15,000 and there's nothing I can do about it! There's no sense in trying to figure out crazy people. maybe he is still using your address because he is moving around to different places. I would call these companies and tell them that he doesn't live with you any more. And make sure that he can't use your name or SSN to get credit cards or anything. Or maybe you could move! Author beejsea2 Posted March 16, 2005 Author Share Posted March 16, 2005 When I sent back the car loan payment I put a note in the envelope that said..I don't know why MY address was used for a return address...I'm sure it was just an over sight!! My sisters told me when his car loan payment was returned to just rip the check up but I took the high road!! I know now that he really did me a favor by leaving!! Moving is not an option I just bought my house two years ago!! Now I'm so thankful that his name was not on the mortgage!! Link to post Share on other sites
