For those in what I considered the bottom percentiles, I feel there are better ways to meet people than OLD. The problem lies in that those who recognize that OLD is tougher for them will often languish in that defeat rather than seek and attempt alternative methods. So yes, they fall into the comforting trap of feeling sorry for themselves. But for those who have the drive to meet someone, winning this "contest" will open them up to trying other means and giving them better chances of winning their prize.
