9Lives
Has anyone ever had a very bad ,....very bad yeast infection that will not go away? What did you do? Please help me
GirlDown
i think a lot of people will tell you this, but see a doctor. have you been to one yet, and had it diagnosed? have you used a treatment method? if not, it may not just go away. if you used one without having it looked at, it may not be a yeast infection. Israfil
Get a script for diflucan.
moimeme
It may not be a yeast infection. Nobody here can diagnose or prescribe. A doctor needs to check her and figure out whether it's that or something else.
Pocky
Have you tried any of the the over-the-counter applications? If not, you may want to pick one up. They have a super version now that is inserted one time and it's supposed to work in twenty-four hours. Also, eat yogurt with active cultures. I eat yogurt every day to keep yeast infections away since I'm prone to getting them with my diabetes. My mother takes an over-the-counter pill called Acidophulous that is supposed help a lot. Just be sure to check with the pharmacist if you're taking any other drugs. If you try any of the suggestions and it still doesn't go away after three days then I'd call the doctor. There is a chance that it's not a yeast infection and could be something else. If you're having unprotected sex or you're noticing anything different form the normal symptoms of a yeast infection I'd call the doctor first. However, I have had really bad yeast infections that made me think I was going to d-i-e. I just got an application at the local pharmacy and it went away.

Israfil
Moi is right in suggesting that Rose see a physician. We cannot diagnose over a board. I was just saying that is a yeast infection is indeed present, difulcan will do the trick. Seeing as a prescription is needed for this, an examination by a doctor would be implicit. moimeme
I'm just a little leery of suggesting specific meds. I also was mixing diflucan up with the active ingredients in Monistat and Canesten.

GirlDown
wow, your doctor should have done something else for you besides just tell you to get over the counter/scripts for an entire year. jeez, girl, i hope you get better. even if it's a year-long infection, which i have never heard of, something is causing it that needs to be fixed. get well. brashgal
One more suggestion, in addition to seeing a doctor (and I suggest a different doctor - not the one who has let you limp along with this for a whole year), try cutting all sugar out of your diet. Makes for a less hospitable environment for yeast. I've tried those one-day over the counter suppositories - the cure was almost worse than the infection - really irritated me - I tolerate the 3-day cure much better. Hope you are better soon!! Fun2BMe
For me beer and wine makes it much worse and even activates it when not present. Just a sip of beer and it turns into a yeast infection maybe because of the fermented yeast in alcohol. The expensive alcohols don't affect it though.
Author 9Lives
It is awful. I really is. It has slowed down my sex life but my drive is still very high.
Fun2BMe
Do you eat a lot of yogurt - the plain unflavored kind??? Try eating as much as 16 oz / day and I GUARANTEE you in a week it will be gone. Also, no alcohol and no sex without condoms during this one week trial period and there you have a cure.
Author 9Lives
girl if you told me to hang up side down for a week...I WOULD DO IT. I will try it.
Fun2BMe
Good! I will follow up with you next Sunday, if not sooner. Make sure you get the nonfat kind so you don't gain any weight on it since regular yogurt is as fattening as whole milk. The over the counter stuff and prescriptions are garbage in comparison to the active yeast cultures in yogurt that eat up the yeast infection. Don't buy the Yoplait and other flavored kinds - make sure it's the PLAIN (not vanilla either) kind. Also, yeast infections have a different strain today than when Monistat first came on the market, making them more resistent to the Monistat but it is good for the Monistat sellers since you have to keep using their product over and over again. You can even add fruit to the yogurt if it's too bland for you, but just the thought that it'll get rid of all your discomfort should make it easy to eat.
