bebe23
Mine is outdoors. I love being outside with my dog and nature. In wintertime it's harder, but I still like to bundle up for a brisk walk/hike in the ice and snow. I didn't like the gym because of the distractions. The big TV screens with a different channel set on each, people talking loudly, ugh! I only liked it when there was barely anyone there and the TVs were off. For me exercise is best when I'm alone with my thoughts.
dichotomy
Home. While I do like getting outdoors with my kids when its nice out, for myself, I am not big on exercising outdoors alone. Too many distractions - cars, bikes, dogs, other people, etc. Over the last few years I have built up my own home gym with all I need, and no longer need to go to a regular gym for much. I like the time savings, going downstairs in my PJ's in the morning ...not sharing or waiting for equipment, and the music or TV is what I want on. However with my MMA training - I do go to classes and I do enjoy this interaction at this gym. Still I also train MMA at home on my own as well and like this. Harradin
Home/outdoors. A long run/cycle is great! I do judo and kickboxing aswell inside but doesn't count as a gym! Been really tempted to go do a couple of workouts in a park/playground nearby, got a sudden urge to do pull ups and been curious as I hear parks/playgrounds are great to do workouts in! JDPT
I enjoy going to the gym. It gets me in the mood watching everyone being in one particular place working towards the same goal.

xxoo
Outdoors, all 12 months a year! The dog is going to need exercise anyway, so we might as well go for a run On really nasty weather days, I'll do insanity at home, but I'm always psyched to get back on the trails.
sillyanswer
Outdoors. Ropes and climbing gear in the summer. Ice axe and crampons in the winter. Sadly too few mountains near me.

nofeelings22
Home usually, free gyms at hotels at othrer times. I use nothing but 50lb dumbbells and a bench, so i can do this just about anywhere.
almond
Treadmills make me feel like a human hamster on a wheel. I need my exercise to be fun.
Emilia
Combination of gym and outdoors. There is nothing as beautiful and relaxing as nature, I love hiking, trekking, swimming, long walks. Resistance training makes me strong though. I don't care about the noise and other people as long as there is enough equipment to go around. I like to learn from others too, watch what they do.

There is nothing as beautiful and relaxing as nature, I love hiking, trekking, swimming, long walks. Whoops! This post has me wanting to clarify my initial response. I am very active and love, love love doing things like these Emilia listed. But... I hadn't even considered them as exercise! To me exercise is stuff you don't like to do. In my case, pushing around dumbbells to look better for the opposite sex.
sillyanswer
The moment barbells grows on trees and 20 kg plates come out of the ground like mushrooms I'll prefer the outdoors... For your arms and core (and legs a bit) go climbing. For your legs go hiking or scrambling. If either is too easy put more rocks in your backpack. For cardio, run back down from the summit. I remember seeing a news story on an old high school friend who became a pretty well known rock climber - Dean Potter. (yes, we are all crazy and figure we can do anything.. i don't know what they taught us growing up...lol) He was jacked compared to having been probably one of the skinniest kids in my high school. Even I need something like 100kgs sometimes, let alone Priv.

FitChick
Love walking outside. Must be the Vitamin D from the sun that perks me up. At home, I have five sets of dumbbells on the rack and dozens of DVDs so I don't have the excuse of being too tired to drive to a gym. I don't have to pay a fee. I can work out naked, too. Even though I haven't been working out as much in the past couple of months, I lost five pounds and look very fit because you can see my muscles more than before. You can lift heavy but until you get rid of that fat on top of the muscle, you will appear to be as flabby as an unfit person.
StandingO
a bit of all three. Gym for range of equipment and space. Home cause can do a quick work out and private Outdoors, well its fresh air and the best
Gloria25
Yeah, for me it's a combo... I mainly got the gym membership cuz of the pool. I only go to the gym for the pool and then like once a week to use the elliptical machines...I used to go for classes like Yoga, 'till they changed the instructor. I might go back again when mum leaves now. I like outdoors cuz yeah, the smell of fresh air (better to run early in the morning, before car fumes take over), trees, seeing things/people to stimulate my mind. I also feel the climate - hot or cold - pushes me to get a better work out. I do like the TVs in the gym - but not the TVs on the individual machines. Who came up with that? I don't like the people in the gym I go to now. I also like the whole atmosphere. I guess seeing other people working out, the lights, the paintings/messages on the walls gets you excited to work out. Music gets good too. Sometimes I sing when I'm changing clothing. This gym has several locations, but the one I go to now, eh. I liked the one I used to go to a few years ago, lots of hot people there. And, the people were polite. When you go to swim, they ask if you wanna share if it gets crowded. Not at this gym location. They are rude and clueless. I still offer to share and people are grateful when I do. Maybe I can teach them a less on on sharing? Also, at home I use DVDs to work on my Pilates, Yoga, and/or dancing skills/workout. You have privacy at home and convenience to work out whenever you want. Sometimes I'm doing push-ups at 9PM...lol. You can also work out half-naked...ooooh. MercuryMorrison1
Home. It's easy to access, I can literally roll out of bed in the mornings and begin my routine. Basically...The reason I choose home is for convenience, I don't particularly enjoy the outdoors ''unless the weathers just right''. I don't have to ''wait my turn'' to use equipment...I've got everything I need here and ready to go at my discretion. Shower, Food, Comfortable seating afterward's is all just a few steps away while at home. Going to the gym is expensive and inconvenient, and if you're not an outdoorsy type of person, that really only leave's you with the home option.
Maleficent
I prefer the gym. It's the only way I actually do the work out. At home, I keep procrastinating and end up not working out at all. Outdoors, well it's too cold 6 months out of the year so that's also not an option (for me anyways. lol)
