need asking a girl out

so there's this girl that I've very attracted to. I'd like to explain the situation a bit so you can understand why I don't know how to exactly approach her. I just started a new job. its in the restaurant business. this place just opened up so we are all in training. she has been with the franchise for a while and her job is to go to different new openings and train the new personal. during the entire training process we are in class and there a are quite a bit of us so she is never alone. she's one of the lead trainers so people are always talking to her asking questions and such. we do get a few breaks which are only a few minutes but again she's always being asked questions. I am not the most social or flirtatious guy so I can't just approach her and ask her in front of people. just can't do it. if I could...I wouldn't be asking for advice lol. to clarify I don't even have a clue if I stand out to her or anything. she doesn't treat me any differently or doesn't make any more eye contact with me then she does with everyone else so I have no clue if she's the bit interested in me. she's smart, funny, seems to care and like I said I am just drawn to her. the negative factor is that she doesn't even live in the same state as me so obviously nothing big can come out of it (some would say that right there is negative thinking). ok so my way of doing this would be to just be really up front and see if it works. by up front I'd say this "hey (her name) I was wondering if I could take you out while you were in town since you don't get to do much but be here at the restaurant.

one thing though that has kept me from saying anything is that one of the other trainers was invited by one of the other new employees to dinner at her house for the holidays since they wouldn't be able to be home with family and the trainer said that it was very thoughtful but they weren't allowed to socialize with the trainees outside of work. so I can only imagine going out on a date with a trainee would be a NO NO but I can't not try at least! I mean its not an amazing job and its just dinner right?!?

 

 

ok but back to the orginal question...how should I approach this girl? please help shes only in town for a few more weeks and I don't want me to later regret not even trying!
