Hi,

 

I have a crush on a young male university professor who is ten years older than me. I'm not his student, but I feel he does not want to be in touch with me at university to protect his academic prestige though I tried to attract his attention. Since we're not even in the same department, I cannot use educational related questions as an excuse to go to his office and talk to him. I can just hope to ran into him in the hall which does not help me get him. How can I approach him so it does not make me look desperate and still I get the opportunity to show myself?

Acquire a full body photo of him, get said photo printed to a cardboard cutout. Infiltrate his office secretly before he shows up and place it there. Put a note on the back of it with the following words: "In case you'd like a day off from teaching your students, just put this in your place, your students will be none the wiser. Meet me at X (location of your choice)".

 

If that doesn't hit jackpot, well, I'll have to go back to the drawing table and come up with an even better plan.

 

It really just depends on your own limits and what you are willing to do. Have you noticed other locations he might be at, that would be ideal to strike up a conversation? Sometimes the best approach is the most direct approach.

If this young professor wants to protect his academic prestige, you will not succeed at getting his attention, and manipulating your way in having him have romantic involvement with you. The most you can hope for is just being friendly two individuals that work in the same institution. Besides, you have no idea if he already is in a relationship, which he may be.
