LookAtThisPOst
Though, a lot of women don't like being approached at the gym or out running errands and the like when they aren't totally in the mindset of being approached as they are in a different mental "zone" (or so I would think). The only thing...as far as COLD approaches go where women would be open to being approached is at the beach? Yes? As they are relaxing and taking it easy. They really aren't doing anything but sunning themselves mostly, reading a book, etc.

Author LookAtThisPOst
Depends on the woman. That's how my parents met. I'm sure a man have a problem putting a book if a woman approached him Whenever I see your posts, I think of this video: Sometimes people just want to relax and read their book without being hit on. Hopeful30
Hmm... I don't think a COLD approach is the best option, but I wouldn't be closed to being approached on the beach in a "would you wanna join our volleyball game" type manner.

Yes that would be fine, "our" being the operative word, and after he asks he goes away back to his friends and the game. ONE guy coming up to hit on me when I'm basically immobilized, in a bathing suit! Laying on a towel, NO NO NO NO NO!!! No way of That would be a huge intrusion! Unless she was literally signaling you to come over. Talk about being cornered.

GemmaUK
if he isn't creeoy...fine - interest level is personal. If he is creepy..nope.
d0nnivain
It would all depend on how smooth the approach was. I'm pretty open to talking to new people but done wrong at the beach can come off as overly sexual too fast.

How about the ol', "accidentally, throw the volleyball in the ladies' general direction" routine? lol
E-Squared
Maybe. I would approach a woman on the beach, but if she is in the middle of sunbathing or reading book, probably not.

Rejected Rosebud
Hmmmm, you know, you're right. It wouldn't hurt, it couldn't hurt, it shouldn't hurt to try. As long as you're able to take a "no" or general disinterest and then GO AWAY, the reason I don't like it, and it's happened to me before, is that a guy would not leave, he parked his beach towel by me to make his "approach" and showed no signs of planning to move on, I was too wimpy to ask him so I actually went home! That was my fault, young and inexperienced, but I still live in dread of sunbathing on the beach or even at a public pool by myself!! Not really in dread, but I have to put up some serious DO NOT APPROACH vibes out there!!
ASG
Nothing ventured, nothing gained, dude. Honestly, if anyone approaches me when I'm reading a book, if looks could kill, they'd be dead. When you're reading you're DOING SOMETHING. Not to be interrupted, unless there's an actual proper reason (someone better be dying!!!)

Anyways OP, if you see someone you want to approach, I say just go for it. Everyone is different, so you don't know what peoples personal preference are for when they like to be approached. If they don't want to be approached they'll let you know, and you'll be on your way. Take the gamble and just do it; women like that
