Anyone changed their number after a break up?

I am contemplating to change my cell phone number and deactivite my face book for few years because I am afraid that my ex might contact me down the road and it would screw up my moving on procresss. Then again he might not since he is with someone else.

However, we were on and off for few years and he would always come back after the 5 or month mark and I would fall onto his tunnel and the whole process begins.Has anyone take such drastic measures such as changing your number and block them on fb etc after a break up ?

I can't honestly say I have changed my number. My heartless ex lover did contact me, three weeks after it ended; but only with a "hi". I just ignored it, blocked her later on. Haven't heard from her since. Now my number has changed, for different reasons.

But in your case, yeah, I'd change the number and get rid of Facebook. The time is all up to you. But given your history, and his; he could come back when this one leaves him or him her. You do not need to fall anymore than you already have.

I've changed emails, blocked them on FB, I can block them from texting my phone, but not calling, but I would not change my phone number.

I've had my number way too long, it'd be a giant PITA to change it now, and I like it too!

Some people change numbers like socks, I guess I'm just set in my ways.

I did earlier in breakup. It will help you because you will not

anticipate in any form their contact.

Ditch fb and change cell number if you want to move on

asap.

No didn't change it nor will I ever. My life is mine alone now, and I refuse to make a change to it ever again just because of her.

The ex never had a facebook (or any social media) so that makes life a lot easier in itself haha.

I thought of changing my number the first few weeks while I was still pretty upset, but realized at no point had he ever reached out to me. I tossed a handful of texts his way in the beginning. He always replied and had a good attitude about it. I sent him a text out of the blue a few weeks back and he ignored it lol. So in my case, seems a bit redundant to change my number considering he hasn't been contacting me.

Sometimes I suspect curiosity will get to him and he might pop up out of the blue to see how I am. Most of the time, however, I'm fairly confident I'll never hear from him again and I'd be beyond shocked if I did.

I think it would be easier and more sensible to just block the persons number instead of having to go through the fiasco involved with getting a new number and letting everyone know.

I blocked my ex's number.

Sure, he could call from another number, but not without realizing that I blocked him.

Not that he'll ever actually call. But now, I don't have to think about it. :) I can't hear how much he's ignoring me if I plug my ears. It works wonders.
