My husband and I were together A year and 8 months when we discussed marriage he said the EXACT sentence to me " if Marriage is ...." Guess what? He not only proposed 3 months later, with the most beautiful ring but planned our wedding (total fairytale) sent me to Vera Wang to pick out the perfect dress, we went to Paris on our honeymoon. We have a great marriage, tells me I'm the woman he's always dreamnt of. Tells me he didn't know marriage could be like this and he's glad we did it! And for all the doubters, I have photos lol, and btw there was no prenup ( for any other doubters lol) I believe your boyfriend will propose. If marriage is?? I'm confused...that wasn't the sentence OP's boyfriend said . He said he doesn't believe in marriage and it's just a piece of paper. Did your boyfriend say this? Look, no one can guarantee he will or won't propose, what most of us are saying is that since he himself says he doesn't want marriage but will only do it if she wants, it is unlikely he is going to: propose, send her to Vera Wang and the rest and I think it is irresponsible to just swoop in and make it seem like what happened to you will happen for her too when given the facts it seems unlikely. If it does I'll be happy for her but I think she needs to be realistic and prepare for it not happening how she fantasizes whereas it's all too easy to sit there and dream it up in your mind that yes he will propose and send me to Vera Wang and fly me to Paris and all the rest. I wasn't asking you and for the record I did read the original post. Actually I think I'm having déjà vu because I believe this op has posted the same question before.
