Running out of time I think. Any ideas?????? ?? It's never too late to change careers or find and do what you love. To answer your question. It's up to you. Not everyone likes or wants to be the same thing. Look at hobbies that you enjoy doing, figure out how to make that a full time job. What do you like doing? Find a job the resembles what you like doing.

HokeyReligions
I went back to college when I was in my 40's and chose a different career path. Unfortunately, I got burnt out on it pretty quick and have reverted to what I did before with some minor expansions that include my latest college venture! I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up! I was never one of those people who knew what they wanted to do, had a dream, or a vision, or whatever and then pursued it. I get bored easily! If I could make a living working with animals (especially big cats) I would like to have been like (I can't remember his name at the moment) the guy who now goes on talk shows and stuff and brings animals on to talk about them and try (in between Carson's or Leno's jokes) to impart a bit of education about animals to the audience. Only I wouldn't carry cockroaches with me! (what is his name?!) OH! Jack Hanna! I wouldn't necessarily want to do talk shows, but work with animals and help educate people about them. I used to do volunteer work at the zoo where I was trained to handle certain animals and give roving lectures and teach and entertain school groups and I loved it! Then I got married and that screwed the zoo docent program all to heck! LOL! But hand me a snake or a 'gator and I turn into a teacher who loves her job! I didn't get along well with birds, but the reptiles and I got along great! I didn't have a chance to finish my training with the big cats so I didn't do much with them. I used to be one of those zoo docents who would go into the sealion enclosure and feed them and play with them and get on the speaker and talk about them--that was fun, but the most fun was when I would bring a six foot boa out on the grounds and talk about them and let people touch them and help others get over their fear of snakes. I've handled 'gators up to five feet (tail tip to snout) in my lap, and got behind the big ones to pull them back when the feeders were in front to feed them, and trusted others to do the same when I was in front feeding them. And I've reached into an Opossum's pouch to demonstrate their elasticity and show their babies. I live too far from the zoo now to try to volunteer again

curiousnycgirl
My career has all been good luck and timing, so I am probably not the right person to answer this question. I was lucky enough to find a job that leverages my G-d given talents. Lord knows I didn't study finance in college! On the other hand I can't say that I get up every morning happy as a clam! On the other hand I am fortunate that my job does support my habits - living in NYC in a nice apt, owning and garaging a car (major thing for a New Yorker) , having a horse, vacations, etc. - so I count myself lucky and on those days I really don't want to go to work, I remind myself of that. I guess if I could pick my ideal it would be working with those less fortunate and/or animals. The closest I've ever come is coaching a special olympics equestrian team. That is amazing! But again - I'm fortunate that my job allows me to do things like that. Best of luck!
Three of Swords
What I would LOVE to do is work with metal. I want to cut the stuff, I want to weld the stuff. I want to design the objects d'art that you see in the really cool stores - the large mirrors, the cool doors, the stair railings, etc. But art does not pay the bills. So hence working in an office AND a call centre. B.
tanbark813
I want to be a highly trained, multi-million dollar government assassin, like on The Bourne Identity. They have to give me theme music though. No theme music and I walk.
