Would a nasty toilet be a dealbreaker for you?

I know everyone's toilet gets dirty, but when you see a toilet that looks like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks, would that be a turn-off? Not like hoarding or messy-but just the bathrooms..

Yeah that's pretty gross. It takes like, .5 seconds to clean the bowl with some cleaner and a scrub brush.

Whenever we have a date, I clean this place from top to bottom. Most of all I make sure the bathroom is sanitized and spotless. I can't stand a dirty bathroom and I know it really grosses out a lot of women.

A deal breaker? I would hope that a dirty toilet doesn't make or break true love!!!

I'd have to ask how's the rest of the house?

Sheets clean? Fridge?

Filthy toilet is a problem, but is prob the tip of the iceberg.

Under The Radar

As a guy, if I walk into a woman's bathroom and find:

  • A trail of toothpaste leading to the medicine cabinet.
  • Enough mold on the shower curtain you could make penicillin with it.
  • Residual paper and hair, matted to the end of the toilet, it appears the bowl is sporting a goatee ......

Uh, yeah ...... I'm out of there like an olympic caliber sprinter.

All future correspondence can be forwarded to my PO Box.

LOL

I have to say....probably so. I know, I know. I mean, I can understand some dishes in the sink - everybody gets busy. But a really nasty bathroom is just...a health hazard and all kinds of gross. Couldn't do it.

Yeah, I mean we all get busy and who wants to be with an obsessive-compulsive type that's always cleaning stuff...but, if you can tell that the place hasn't been cleaned in a while - yes, a dealbreaker.

No kidding! I can clean the bathroom if that's the only problem.

I would take it personally, actually. If they didn't even bother to make sure the toilet wasn't "nasty" before inviting me over, then to me that would say that they consider me desperate and intend to get whatever they can out of me, but don't feel any need to even provide a sanitary environment when having me over.

I don't expect anyone's place to be spotless, but a nasty toilet? Yes, deal breaker. When a person puts effort into cleanliness and hygiene, to me it says that they respect him/herself and respect others (including me), especially others with whom they might be intimate (re: hygiene). To me it says that they think about how the other person will experience the environment and intimacy, and they want the other person to be comfortable. Basic empathy, really.

I suppose the only possible exception is if the person has mental health problems that are leading to personal neglect of their hygiene and/or living space, but I would expect them to actively work on it and not just accept it.

I knew of a guy like this...he'd clean this chick's apt. He married her and the laziness (i.e. lack to clean up her place) she had before they married never changed. They are divorced.

I mean, a sign of laziness in one area - usually means they're lazy in other areas. She was also a slacker at work. She didn't work out, and didn't even bother with makeup.
