Darren2013
I believe I mentioned before about my bad habit of eating my food too fast. I can scarf down an entire quart of ice cream in 15 minutes. The way I eat is like I'm going to a fire like a firefighter on call 24/7. I guess I should have been a cop or firefighter or some other emergency occupation because then I would be more justified in woofing down my food fast since my job is in high demand of my time and I wouldn't have much time to eat anyway. WomenWubber
Eating too fast will stress your digestive system, because the food takes longer and is much more difficult to digest. You don't get all the nutrients you would otherwise and you may damage your digestive system as a result. So yes, it is.

rocketman122
No one here is qualified to tell u yes or no. Ull have to find some medical sites for those questions. People can only give their opinions and what they read on the net. Which u can do anyways
Maleficent
I think eating the entire quart of ice cream is more health hazardous than eating it quickly though...
carhill
As an older guy, I find two main issues with eating fast, ones I really didn't consider when younger. 1. Eating fast means things blow by my taste buds and I don't really enjoy the food as much so tend to eat more to get the same 'satisfaction'. I've tried this with certain 'junk' foods and find eating more slowly consumes far less material for the same feeling of satisfaction. More food equals more weight, generally, and being old my metabolism is slowing. 2. As mentioned by others, digestive system. Eating fast tends to bloat my stomach and also stimulates my gall bladder, sometimes causing pain. Eating more slowly essentially takes those two factors completely out of the picture, even with foods which might normally annoy my gall bladder. Back as a teenager, I could wolf down a giant pizza in 5-10 minutes and not blink an eye. We all grow old. Fortunately, doing that at a young age hasn't caused marked health problems, only somewhat annoying ones like I outlined. For another person, their result could be completely different.
aggie382
I don't see the rush in eating, as I like to savor every bite!
EasyHeart
I eat fast, too. I'm hongry!!! The only thing that's "wrong" with eating fast is that it doesn't give your body time to produce the hormones that tell you that you're full. As a result, people who eat fast often overeat because they don't realize that their body has had enough food.
Robert Z
It takes a few minutes for your stomach to tell your brain you're full. If you eat too quickly, you can outrun the signal that you're full, and then overeat without knowing it until a bit later. Eating slowly is helpful to those trying to maintain or lose weight.
