Isn't it strange how exes become strangers

yeah man. you nailed it. my girlfriend who broke up with me yesterday, I've never connected with anyone like I did with her. she also told me several times that I am her favourite person she's ever met.

and then we are just supposed to never speak again?!

this is such a hard concept for me , to just cut her out.

her family have sent me messages saying they hope me and her can be friends in the future so they will see me sometime again. what a sad ordeal.

It is the hardest thing to get used to isnt it, you get used to being with someone and then when it's gone you have to re-adjust

Hang in there man. Not long before my ex decided to split, she was telling me how much faith she had in us and how amazing I was and how she never met anyone like me and couldn't believe I was real. It's confusing and you never know what's really going on in their head.

All you can do now is start moving on and improving yourself and someday you'll get answers one way or another.

Yeah same here, "I love you so much, we have our entire lives to look forward to" ...then boom, dumped.

One thing I learnt from it all is that women can be very convincing even if they don't believe what they're saying themselves.

Just had to read the title to know that what she said very likely means:

"I've met someone else."

Would you dump the love of your life for ANYTHING? Nope.

Sorry man

I find it sad and unnecessary (with caveats). My ex husband, the man I knew since I was 4, dated for 12 years, married for almost 10 that ran off with another woman...meh...he is erased. The last two relationships...I loved them both dearly and differently and have zero reason to ever see them as strangers and they will always be part of my life. No weirdness or black holes. If everyone I meet/date is going to become a stranger then I don't want to ever date again.

I already know that, I'm just saying it's strange how the person goes from being everything to a distant memory
