CrystalShine2011
It takes me 23 minutes to get to work, not too bad. Florida driving is crazy though, I agree.
Taramere
Hmmmmm... crawl out of bed, put robe on, walk down stairs to start coffee... About 28 steps. Driving takes me about 10 mins, but I walk more often - which is about 40. Cycling - I haven't cycled to work in ages , but I think it usually takes me about 25 minutes (I'm not a speed cyclist...I tend to dawdle along, but it's okay because I'm on cyclepaths pretty much the entire way....except for the last bit which is a quiet uphill residential road. And I'm such a lazy bitch that I get off the bike and walk up the pavement with it for most of the way. I don't cycle on roads. I'm too nervous of the traffic, plus I hate holding traffic up. It's almost worse when cyclists go really fast as though they're trying to go the speed of a car, because it just makes it that bit harder for cars to overtake them. That's when I go into the office, of course, which I try to do at least 3 days a week. When I lived in London and did a different kind of job, it took me about an hour and 20 minutes. And if there'd been an accident on the M4 then it could take up to 3 hours. But on the plus side, I was pretty familiar with the music scene at that point in my life since I was listening to the radio so much. central
I've had long commutes (almost 90 minutes for one job when starting out in my career), but I've always tried to reduce time and distance when possible. So, for the past 10 years, I've lived 6 miles from my work, and it takes me 10 to 15 minutes each way depending on lights and traffic.
