Sugarkane
I'm so sick of this. I've had to buy clothes because my thyroid problem went undiagnosed for 6 months. I shop at Target or at sales and don't buy designer stuff like my in laws. My feet are swollen ever since I had my daughter, so I can't wear old shoes either. What to do? I'd rather spend money on short coarses etc for self improvement. Is this not reasonable? I am frugle compared to my in laws.
GoBlue
I am sorry to hear that you are having a hard time. Please relax and know that this "too shall pass." Things will smooth out and get to normal. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Are you at a stable weight now or are you still trying to get your thyroid under control? I, too, shop at places like Target or Wal-Mart. But I also shop at the second hand stores and on craigslist. If it's something I know I will be wearing a long time I will buy new. If it's bum around clothes or I know my weight will be changing in the near future I will buy used. There are a lot of great deals to be had at resale shops and online. I even find a lot of new stuff there with tags still on. Usually, I'll make a list of what I need and then spend the afternoon going to various stores looking for those items.

Mr.D.E.B.T.
How long have you been arguing? Are the arguments always about spending? If it hasn't been long and is only about spending money on clothes, these arguments seem to be short-term issues.
