I can't wrap my head around it so I would like some insight & opinions, please. Here's a brief back story: A woman I used to work with claimed to talk to the dead. She started asking questions about my parents. She found out my dad died 10 years ago. She was trying to explain how the dead communicate with her - through flash visions, signs & voices. She tried to get me to believe my dad was there and trying to communicate to me through her - like the movie Ghost. She said he was standing next to me. She no longer works at the same company, so we don't communicate all that often anymore. The day before yesterday, she wrote a status that said she was going to a group medium reading. She text me randomly to say she would let me know if the medium picks up on anything. I ignored her. Yesterday she texts again, saying how great the medium was and I should take her number. I replied "oh yea, cool" to which she replied a long text about how she felt so validated...and that my dad came through and told about my mom and me. This infuriated me. I asked her to please stop, she was upsetting me. She said she didn't mean to and wanted to know why. I told her I thought it was BS. She tried to retract the validation comment & said my dad was trying to communicate with me. She said she thought I would be happy. Then she asked if I was upset that my dad was not directly communicating with me. Basically this was when I cut the convo. Why would she come to me with this information without my asking? Why would my dead dad try to help validate her? Let's just say for fun that my dad's energy is still on earth...why would he be at a reading nowhere close to my house, trying to "come through" when no one he is connected to is there? I argued this point, she said he's trying to show me he's still around through her. Again, let's say he is around, wouldn't he know my thoughts and that I wouldn't want him connecting to me through her?! This bizarre experience really brought out a strong emotion of anger. I felt it was inappropriate of her and like she crossed a boundary and somewhat invaded my own spirituality if that makes sense? Or perhaps she's trying to manipulate me, but I don't understand why? I may not hear voices in my head, or have flash visions or be able to talk to the dead, but I meditate and I share my thoughts with my dad even though I have no proof he hears, it helps me. It upset me that she used my story, my parents, my life and tried to use it so she would feel validated. So I guess what I'd like to know is, What are your thoughts on this situation? I shouldn't have to question what my spirituality & beliefs are. I have to question why she is acting this way. It's inappropriate and yes, odd. It made me uncomfortable and it's not healthy, so I have since deleted & blocked her from my social media and blocked her from my phone. Thank you for the feedback! Link to post Share on other sites
