Ms_Sweetness
I have dated skinny guys and larger guys (more muscle than fat) and I prefer the men with meat. I'm not physically attracted to guys with rolls or those who take five steps and are out of breath, they would probably get no play with me. Which is funny because I am always being approached by LARGE guys that are at least 275 and under 6'. I'm only 5'3 138, not a good match.
XNemesisX
I have always went for skinny guys. I don't like too much muscle, and I certainly do not like any fat. I wouldn't want a guy smaller than me, or TOO TOO skinny...but skinny and lean has ALWAYS been what I have been attracted to. I am 5'6" 105 pounds (now) though so I don't think I would mesh too well with a big guy. My last boyfriend was 6"3" and I think 160 pounds. My height preference is also over 6'0" so anything under that would be considered too short to me. Yeah, I am a little particular when it comes to height/weight. Kooky, size 6 could mean differently in different brands. Size 5/6 is certainly small. I used to wear that size, but now I am a size 1/2. I don't shop in the little girls clothes, I am too tall for that. It is harder for me to find clothes after I lost all the weight though. My preferred size was when I was a 5/6 and I would love to go back to that size. Clothes just looked better on me then. But yeah..back to the topic. Skinnier is better (in my opinion). Also, if the guy is fat as a young man, he will be massive when he hits middle age. My mom always told me that
kit4kat
For some reason I'm attracted to the tall, skinnier guys... my most current ex was 6' 135... which was kinda sad considering at the time I was 5'3 and between 135 and 140 (I was a gymnast, lots and lots of muscle weight... still have most of it actually). I told myself that never again would I date someone that weighs less than me. My current interest is 6'3 and 190. He's perfect! My first boyfriend was a little pudgy, and to be completely honest, seeing little man boobs kinda turned me off. I did like him a lot, and he was just so cute!! We didn't work out because of personality reasons. Kooky, size 6 is small. I think in most cases a 4-6 is small in clothing. I'm somewhere between a 4 and a 6. And like I said before, I'm 5'3 and weigh about 125 now.... its about what looks good on you! I heard it said once, its not your job to fit into your clothes, its your clothes job to fit you!!! BigB
I'm a big guy. I've had several women tell me that they like bigger guys (one told it that big shoulders were hot) It depends a lot on the person though, some of us just carry a lot of muscle. I'm 6' 290lbs. Sounds like a HUGE fat guy on paper right? but my doctor tells me my ideal weight is around 265. I guess I was built to play football or something... I'm generally attracted to thicker women, curves are hot, and so is a little jiggling. I think my EX was around 200lbs. I don't like my girls to small, I'm afraid I'll hurt them... moimeme
Kooky, you're in Europe. American sizes are generally smaller and in the last few years, the sizes have shifted. I'm almost positive that today's 6 was 8 or even 10 in the past. Smart manufacturers made the numbers smaller LOL.

Merin
Well.. I actually am from a size 0 to a 2.. I'm not anorexic.. I am just small. I can buy a lot of my clothes in the kids department.. but I don't look like a 12 year old.. Anyway.. I guess there isn't a certain type I go for.. I'm less inclined to look at the scale size of a guy for initial attraction.. and look more at faces where physical attraction comes to mind. My last BF was around 5'6 and toned.. probably wieghed around 160lbs My Currant BF is 6'3 and wieghs probably around 185lbs I don't mind a few extra pounds on men.. but probably wouldn't date someone who was very very over weight. BTW, Kooky a size 6 is still small IMO
tokyo
Nemesis, kit4kat, Moimeme, Merin, thanks for your answers. Moimeme, I did notice that I started to fit into sizes that I usually can't wear at all. I've heard that expensive brands (but obviously not only them, because I'm too broke for those ) reduce the size with intention to please their female customers and sell more clothes. XNemesisX
YEP!! And that's pretty smart of these manufacturers isn't it??
blind_otter
Back to big men... my psycho ex was 6'3, 230. I am 5'1, 125. One time he broke my bedframe while we were f*cking, and his mom bought me a new one, but he walked around crowing like a rooster and referred to himself as "Biggie" (because of that song intro). GirlDown
my last two relationships were with tall, thin men. now that i think about it they were both so skinny that their heads look enormous. two freakish, alien q-tips. i didn't mean to pick them in succession, but this is how it worked out. thinking about them now, i have no idea what i was attracted to. i always thought "next time, i will be with someone that it feels good to hold, and feel good holding me." now i have it. he's not extrememly muscular, but he's broad, and very strong, and just so solid, especially his back and his side area...i call him my oak tree, cause when i put my arms around him, he feels like one. skinny, skinny guys just don't do it for me, and they never did...it just happened. i don't miss those two mother****ers one bit. actually, thinking about either of them makes a bit ill, even though they never really did anything to me but get in the way. Were you talking about different sizes, because if not, all these girls were really really anorexic. How much is it in centimeters? I still do not understand women's clothes sizes. My girlfriend ranges from a "double zero" to a size 2, depending on what brand she purchases. She is tiny, 5'1" and around 90lbs, but considering her height I do not think she is too tiny or unhealthy looking. Originally posted by moimeme Kooky, you're in Europe. Smart manufacturers made the numbers smaller LOL. I have heard a few women talk about how the sizes have kept the same numbers, but actually gotten a bit smaller. I used to be ultra thin, 115 to 125lbs at 5'4". A few years ago I got very large for my height, and weighed very close to 300 pounds at some points. When I was in the "close to 200lbs" range I never seemed to have a problem dating attractive women; I think personality can go a long way. I also find that men are not held to the same horribly strict "rules" of weight that most women are. There are a few people who view me to a really thin guy now, as I dropped my weight back down to 135lbs, and sometimes I see it, too. There are other times, however, when I make the inch of tummy and my love handles out to be far worse than they actually are.
bluetuesday
my understanding is that US sizes for women's off-the-peg clothes read two sizes smaller than their european counterparts. a UK size 10 is broadly equivalent to a US size 6. which has also been my experience when buying clothes in the states. as for men's body sizes, for a vegetarian i sure do like men with a bit of meat on 'em. something to bite into. not acres of blubber, but a little sturdiness is adorable. is he a man or a tellytubby? ah, who cares. goodnbad
I guess I am in the minority here and hopefully don't bring down the wrath of big guys everywhere but........I prefer the in-betweeners. Skinny guys just don't seem to have enough to hold onto and I guess they just remind me of pre-pubescent kids that haven't had their hormone spurt yet. You know, that scrawny/gawky age. NOT that I couldn't fall in love with a skinny guy, but I do not personally gravitate towards that body type. Generally, IMO, somewhat overweight guys can be very attractive if they take care of themselves. You know, keep themselves neat and tidy and dress well, etc. They can be verrry sexy. Now, on the other hand, if we're talking guys that are 70, 100, 200 pounds overweight, I find that very unattractive. To me, the thoughts that come with this are (and it is here that I will probably get roasted---but you said be honest): lazy, slob, lack of hygiene, out of shape. Yes, it is prejudiced, but I honestly feel a little repulsed. Have you ever made love with a big guy like that? I have. Besides the 'squash' factor, where it becomes hard to breathe, I found it kinda icky to have to listen to the gasping/wheezing since the guy is performing exercise out of his realm. Plus, running your hands up a guy's chest and feeling boobs that are bigger than your own, a BIG turn-off. Ditto the belly. And I'm sorry, if you are that big, taking care of hygiene can be a problem if you can't quite reach it, you know? Naw, I will pass on that again, TYVM. But again, just my own personal preference. Maybe I just had bad experiences in that regards, but don't they shape all of our preferences? goodnbad (And talk about me being a hippocrite, I used to be 90 pounds overweight---and yes, I found that repulsive too). westernxer
I've never dated one, that's all I have to say. Actually, I did take one out during a college group date, just to appease her roommates. I don't remember anything else about it (no, I wasn't drunk).
RecordProducer
I don't like it fat. I mean 10-15 lbs extra would be okay, but basically athletic and fit is what no woman would say "NO" to. You should lose weight anyway, because of your health and self-confidence (also they say that slim people make more money). The catch is - you don't need to lose weight rapidly. Just go 4 lbs per months down. In one year that's 50 lbs. Or 100 lbs in two years! Too slow? Hm...look at it from this point of view, you've probably been over-weighted for years now so one year is nothing and you wouldn't have to starve yourself to death. Visit a nutritionist. If you're too lazy to exercise (just like me), walk a lot and dance for yourself at home! If you're asking questions about what girls like, it means girls are more important to you than food. Congratulations, it should be that way! (Sorry for patronizing you, I can't help it! ) Good luck!

I have to agree with you on fitness and nutrition... I work hard to take care of myself, which most women seem to appreciate, at least when they lay eyes on me for the first time. It wouldn't hurt if I said something to break the ice, but that's usually not the case. I guess I'm just a weird guy, or else I'm just lost in thought. I agree it's up to me to approach them, but I honestly have nothing to say most of the time. Fat guys with great personalities will easily overshadow me (literally and figuratively). I should've been a musician. *sigh*

You'll find something similar with German and Italian sizes. A German size 36 equals an Italian size of 40, I think. The average Italians are a lot smaller than Germans. Maybe it's the same with Americans and British.
