nomadic_butterfly
So recently at work, two newbies started and they of course are going through training. One of the pre-existing member's task is to do a specific report each month and she was asked to show them how to do these reports this week, solo. This girl started exactly a year ago. Then another member who's been on the team, lets call her Jill, has been at our company for just over a year and a half and she's once again, solely training them on certain things that every member of our team does daily. I've been here for 2 years and I do specialized reports every month that really only I set up and organize and Jill was also asked to help train the newbies on how to do these reports. I find it odd considering up to last month, Jill was asking me some basics on how to set them up, but all in all, she doesn't know the program we use thoroughly or the structure, flow, special requirements, etc. that would be covered in this training. Granted, the whole team had to get certified but in practice, there reports are solely my responsibility. Am I over-thinking/analyzing this? Is there some kind of lack of trust on my ability to train or something? I mean I've been doing these specific reports for over a year now, and have shown others on my team how to do them, so I think I know what I am doing. pink_sugar
Yes, you are over thinking it. My husband helps train people at his level at work, because his supervisors hold him to high regards. However, someone's lack of proficiency isn't necessarily an issue with or about you. People learn differently and some people may need additional training.

I thought it weird for me to be the only one to have someone else clueless about what I do "helping" me to train them. But you're right, I should not take it personal.
