Shepp
Ever dealt with this? I lead a pretty active life don't normally sit still very much - even my job requires me to be walking about or exercising pretty constantly. Normally when i sit down in the evening i'm whacked. But whenever (definitely on the last two occasions I've noted it, and I remember times before that) I have a day off like today where I can't get out and exercise (looking after a sick kid) I've been getting pain in my leg...kinda like..cramp, i guess.. Not terrible pain but a definite aching particularly by my groin and behind my knee. But all the rest of the time its absolutely fine... ...can you get pain from not exercising? Is that a thing? Its not like I've not walked about at all today or like i over did it yesterday. Its only that i'm doing less than i would usually! Can't be anything like pulled muscle, joints, trapped nerve or anything like that because it's fine the next day! Sometimes it would be nice to have a total crash-out relax day but no can do! Maleficent
Isn't restless syndrome kind of similar? Either way go see your doctor.
Author Shepp
Isn't restless syndrome kind of similar? That's like what you get when your sitting on a plane right? It is kinda like that actually, if you substitute pins and needles with like a kinda ache then its the same dead leggy feeling. Like i wanna get up and shake my leg.
writergal
Could be rheumatoid arthritis developing maybe? Go see your doctor, definitely. Edited March 17, 2015 by writergal
Author Shepp
Could be rheumatoid arthritis developing maybe? Go see your doctor, definitely. It doesn't really sound like any of these things: tender joints swelling in the joints a feeling of warmth in the joint areas, sometimes spreading outward Many individuals wake up to stiff or difficult-to-move joints in the early stages that improves over a period of hours. Its not swollen and It's definitely not stiff or tender, its kinda the opposite, if that even makes sense. If I grabbed the MTB now and hit the trail, it would go away. I just think its weird. I'll probably tell the doctor when I next have to see him for another reason....I like to get my times worth when i have to go
writergal
Shepp you crack me up!! Haha! Consolidate your symptoms, eh to save on time and money! That's awesome! But if it bothers you, why not just get an appt out of the way now? That's good if it doesn't sound like arthritis. Haha Hahaha! I admit that I've done that sometimes too with doctor visits. Then it's like, I list off 4 things bothering me at once and my doctor just rolls his eyes and laughs at me. Ha! Dog bite? Yikes! Well, can't you call a nurses line or leave your doc a message or email him your symptoms?

That or I pop in and see my sister-in-law, she's always like "Well i don't see much of that as a MIDWIFE" Dog bite? Yikes! One of them things. I've started doing more rescue dog work again now my missis is working in that field. Well, can't you call a nurses line or leave your doc a message or email him your symptoms? I dunno! Id love to be able just to email the doc about stuff. Maybe one day all doc appts will be on Skype haha!

Haha asking a midwife about your symptoms! Kudos to you and your missus for your dog rescue work, but please be careful! Hopefully your dog bite didn't cause any other symptoms. Did you get antibiotics for it? Here, we can email our docs or call a nurses line with symptoms, and then the nurse asks the doc, and then either says "come in for an appt" or says it's nothing. Well, keep a record of when those leg symptoms flare up and then at your next appt, tell your doc. Hopefully it's nothing.

Nope, dogs are actually one of the better things to be bitten as far as infection goes. It hasn't really been any agro, I just thought it might need a stitch but apparently not........still they say chicks dig scars, right! haha! Ah we have like a number you call to speak to the NHS, but they almost always send you to a&e - probably to make sure they don't get sued! Yeah I will do that

Snaggletooth
Ever dealt with this? Hey Shepp. First, you're getting old. Second, I'm a brickie and live a life about as about active and physical as it gets. If I decide to have a lazy weekend I hurt like b*stard. All the Popeyes do. Hence the saying on site, "it only hurts when you stop". The mind is an incredible thing. It can block out pain for months if needed. As soon as you stop and relax it tells you what is injured and hurting. Good chance you have a small little injury, tear, pinch that you normally block out. Thirdly, routine, f*ck with it and it f*cks you back.

Author Shepp
Hey Shepp. First, you're getting old. Aw shucks!!!! Sometimes I feel like we're proper "grown ups" now we're all kids, family & responsibility - but it can't be - we're still babies I tell ya!! :lmao: Second, I'm a brickie and live a life about as about active and physical as it gets. Good chance you have a small little injury, tear, pinch that you normally block out. Yeah your right, it could well be something like that I guess! Especially as its always the same leg which is a little weird Thirdly, routine, f*ck with it and it f*cks you back. Haha ah and aint that the truth!
Author Shepp
Do you stretch often? Err, before working out/sport type exercise then yeah I do pre/post stretching. Not necessarily before work exercise like fire drills/calls, putting up a fence or dipping sheep. But I figure its not like a pulled muscle cause I've don't that plenty and it hurts constantly.
