Going from a lady to an easy woman because of tattoo/piercing?

Does having a tattoo and/or a piercing make a woman look "easy" or even "trashy"? Let's say that you get to know her, you think she's a lady, but when you find out she has a tattoo, does that make her less ladylike/decent/respectable?

There's nothing trashy about a woman that has tattoos and/or piercings. It's just a type of expression. Tattoos and/or piercings can be very sexy on a woman, and add to her allure. But I see it as a lot more conformist when a woman just has an unoriginal tattoo such as a butterfly or flower. I like it when it's something unique or creative.

I have several tattoos...I own my own company and have for years, so i dont have the worries some others do about not being hired or promoted...

But I still have to look professional and make a proper appearance to my custiomers, so I wouldnt tattoo a Swastika on my forehead,

As for women...Its fine, within reason...I dont necessarily care for the look where they are mostly covered and I dont think its a good idea to tattoo your face/neck or hands..

Bottom line?

If you think you are going to care what other people think about you....then DONT do it...

TFY

I have to correct my post from last night, was tired. I meant it looks low class if you tat your neck and face, a lifetime criminal, gangster, and prisoner look. It looks bizarre and scary.

Yes of course it makes an impression to most guys in general, it'll mean you're a bit more "wild" and outgoing to their interpretation...basically a woman with tats is more likely to be "open-minded" and liberal...as conservative Sally wouldn't dream of tarnishing her image.

Sally might not do anal....but tat girl probably most definitely does.

People judge, that's nothing new. But how you act, carry yourself, and your style can obviously make a big difference in perception.

With that being said, I'd expect men to be a bit more flirty and loose once they see your tats...at the very least it makes for conversation...however other guys might deem you an auto slut and not exactly relationship material. It just depends on the guy, his values, his own style, perception as well...but in general it'll have an impression on men indeed whether good or bad.

In Los Angeles I think you get a lot less cool points or rep as a rebel/artist as you used to, it's kind of just a hipster thing these days.

This is precisely what I was thinking as well...it actually happened that the men around got a bit "loose" after they've seen my tattoo.

But the more I think about it, I guess that I enjoyed suprising my coworkers this way. They didn't know I had a tattoo and I imagine they might have been thinking that 99% of the time I just "lay there and think of England." ;-) Although it would probably hurt my chances of finding a "nice gentleman" to marry, because I imagine that such guys go after the conservative Sally that they can bring home to mom (at least the girls from the circles I work in).

I don't assume anything when it comes to tattoos. You'd be surprised the type of people who have them. I don't judge either, I'm pretty neutral overall. Sometimes they look hot, other times meh.

Same.

FFS, my 60-something year old mother-in-law has a tattoo that she got in her 50s with a group of her friends. They're all older white ladies out in suburbia or the country, with grown children and grandkids. Sure sounds like a wild and crazy and loose and unladylike and "likes anal sex" kind of thing, doesn't it?

These are colleagues who've known you for at least a few years. I don't see how discovering that you have a discreet tattoo and piercing suddenly would change their perception of you, unless they're a bit more naive and sheltered than they'd admit.

So many people have tattoos and/or piercings these days that it's useless to attempt to stereotype. My dad was tattooed in Hong Kong after fighting in the Korean War and my sister is a straight arrow CPA who has a few piercings. It seems that some men still erroneously believe that women with tattoos or piercings are more open to approaches and sexual overtures (there was an actual study about this in France a few years ago).

Well they ^^ probably fall into the group of people I was referring to who do it to "think" they are being edgy, cool, wild, etc - and cuz tattooing has become so mainstream. Oh, and the wildest thing they've done and/or will do is attempt french kissing then pull away and giggle.

Lemme guess **Gloria25 putting hands finger's touching heads in like a "predicting" posture** they got a little butterfly on their ankles, wrists, or a shoulder?

The perception of tattoos:

Sally might not do anal....but tat girl probably most definitely does.

Classic line!

The perception of no tattoos:

just "lay there and think of England." ;-)

So the OP's initial instincts are probably correct.

God save the Queen

A coworker of mine had the idea of a woman getting a tramp-stamp of a circular design, and in it a sign that read: "set beer here".

No, I think they did it so they could trigger judgmental reactions from people on high horses.

Nope. But don't worry, you're still cooler than they are.

Just look at all the attention this thread has generated! Mission Accomplished little tat!

No, but I feel the OP....

One time, I was in Texas in training. It was dead of summer. I didn't rent a car cuz that's how I roll. I like to save money and take public transportation when I go to different places.

So, I've got my bunch of tatts, put in my nose/belly ring. I had shorts and a spaghetti strap top and sandals. I walked up to this like diner place, sat down and had some breakfast. I barely carry cash and at time to pay, I forgot what the issue was with them taking my debit/credit card.

Well, the waitress "felt sorry" for me and told me "it was on the house". I felt like she thought I was one of the "street hookers" walking around there area and gave me a free meal. I was upset and embarrassed for them to think I was some hooker or something.

Worst, there was this young couple there who saw me. I kidd you not, I caught the train and walked up to a little shopping center and walked into a Best Buy and when they saw me, they recognized me from the diner and had a "look a the hooker" look they gave me.

I think it was cuz of the tatts cuz I don't dress slutty. I was just wearing a strappy tee and shorts

Just for the sake of it - don't ask her - you may be surprised!!!

I think many would also be surprised at who does have a cheeky tattoo...

Personally my view is "why would you throw paint at a Picasso"...

That said I really sometimes feel the urge to get the words "Your name" tattooed on my bum just so I can say "Oh WOW! I have your name tattooed on my rear" when I meet new people...

Ha ha!!!

Look, one time I was gonna tattoo across like one of my upper thighs "The Queen"

Sooo glad I re-thought that one **whew**

But, that's like my tattoos, they are expressions of things important to me. The fact that "I rule" as the queen that I am (thanks for recognizing my arrogance) I felt that should have been put on my body permanently!!!

Well, I have my days I "do" regret them....

Cuz, I'd love to wear a strapless dress running down my lower back w/o having any "prints"...just a clear canvas.

But, then when summer rolls around and I get to wear strappy stuff and all that, the tatts just look so cool.

Eh, but Angelina Jolie in her wedding dress pulled it off. Thank God for her!!!

You could probably wear a nude colored covering under you dress that would cover up the tats. I'm not sure what the garment is called but I know that ice skaters wear them under their costumes so they aren't showing as much skin as it looks.

I don't judge and some of them really are very clever and artistic but I just... I like the people I date just as they are. I don't need them to have stuff on them to make them look pretty I like them as they are... I hate ear rings on men because I like to nibble ears and when you get randy at 4am and you roll over to see if you can wake them up and get a mouthful of metal instead of skin - its just not nice...

Oh, I hate earrings on guys....that goes along with necklaces and/or flashy watches. And, the only ring a guy should be wearing is a wedding band. Oh, and guys with nail polish - even clear nail polish

And, I hate the "stretching" of the lobes - both male and female.

I thought the same before I got the tattoo down my spine...what if I want to wear a backless dress at work, it'd be showing, how do I cover it, etc.. And now I work in a place so conservative that wearing a backless dress is a big no-no

Anyone who judges a person by their looks like this should be put in a fire..
Which is a judgment.
