Could I be pregnant?

I am on the patch and have been for approx a year.

For exacally a week I have had spotting....brownish red discharge and some blood. I am due for my period in approx 2 days....and am still "spotting" and becomeing a bit more bloody.

Spotting has never happened to me during my many years of birth control. (7 years) especially during my patch week

I went to my doctor and she said unlikely im pregnant but we will do a blood test she said it was just simple spotting. So i did a blood test approx 11 days from my "sex day".

Test came back neg

Now will I get a reg period after spotting?

Could I be pregnant?

How accurate was that blood test?

I am quite stressed and eager waiting for my period over the last few days.

That does NOT resemble morning sickness at all... more likely an STD or something.

What are you talking about? Do you know what spotting is?

Anyway, abitworried, So you took the blood test 11 days after you last had sex, is that right?

According to this doctor's website, the hormones should be in your blood within 7 days of getting pregnant. Therefore, I'm sure this test was entirely accurate. However, if you are worried, you could retake the test. After 11 days, though, I am pretty sure that your pregnancy would definitely show up.

Also, birth control does weird things to your body, even if you've been on it a while. You can talk to your doc about this if it bothers you and try another method.

Tons of things can disrupt our normal cycles. Are you stressed out? Have you been sleeping enough? Have you been partying like mad?

Any of these things and more can cause what you have described. Of course stressing about it, can only make it worse.

Give it a few more weeks - and then if you must, take another test - although sounds like you are in the clear. Remember - spotting doesn't indicate pregnancy - absence of it does!

I've been on the pill for 14 years, and I spot every few months. Your hormone levels and your stress levels have pretty much EVERY BIT to do with it. Possibly an STD if you have more than one partner, but it would have to be accompanied by foul smelling discharge (if you're lucky) sometimes that doesn't even show. I would get it checked just incase.
