Inflikted
So, I decided a couple of weeks ago that I should maybe start making some changes to my eating habits and maybe even get in the routine of some basic exercising. I'm not obese or anything, but I could stand to shed a few pounds, and just generally have a healthier lifestyle. I'm not looking to completely change everything, but enough to start making some progress. If about 98% of what I eat is generally considered not good for you, my goal was to cut that down to about 50%. I was kind of doing okay with this for the first week, then I caught a nasty flu that completely wrecked me for about a week (I'm still feeling the effects of it even now), and I completely fell off the train and fell back to my bad habits. I'm super annoyed, because I always end up having so little self control in situations like these. This isn't the first time I've tried to switch up my eating habits, and every single time, I've found some excuse to throw it all out the window after about a week of doing it. HeartWon'tHeal
I can relate. I need to lose a lot of weight and I do good during the week but blow it on the weekends. Sometimes I beat myself up and feel bad. But usually I tell myself tomorrow is another day and I can start over. It is a constant battle especially when there are so many treats around the office. PinkCarnations
Ever since I moved from the South to Southern California, my eating habits have changed drastically. Here are a couple of things I did to start eating healthier. 1) Stop buying junk food. If I don't keep them in the house, then I'm not as attempted to eat them. Occasionally, I purchase hot Cheetos, which are my weakness, but I will only buy a small, single-serving bag. 2) Next, start shopping at health food stores & farmer's market instead of your regular grocery store where you'll be tempted to buy all of your regular processed foods. Where I live, there are a lot of options, but trader joes and whole foods are some good ones with locations all over the U.S. The good thing about these stores is that they have a lot of healthy options from brands you've never tried - like quinoa pasta, cacao chocolate, etc. I actually find a lot of joy browsing through the aisles of whole foods, believe it or not! 3) Next you'll need to cook at home more. Browse the Internet for recipes! YouTube is also a good source. Follow a blog! do research! Once you learn about all the super foods and the nutrients they provide, you'll be more inclined to eat them. Remember, this isn't just weight loss. This is about nourishing the only body you have and helping it live a long life. For me, I like to meal prep on Sunday nights and Wednesday nights (so only enough to last 3 days and then do it again). I make and pack all of my healthy meals and snacks so i can quickly grab and go. I also like to use glass Tupperware because you can reheat it in the oven, which helps to retain the crispness of certain foods. Also they look better and last longer. 4) For working out, I exercise for 30 minutes as soon as I wake up. If it's nice weather, go for a walk or jog. I like to go on the stair master at my apt gym because I really work up a sweat on it. I find exercising first thing in the morning is best for me because thats when I'll have the most energy, and it instantly makes me feel ready to tackle my day after I finish a work out. In the evening, I'll go to a fitness class or weight train if I feel like it. Good luck! Edited March 26, 2015 by PinkCarnations
makasouleater69
So, I decided a couple of weeks ago that I should maybe start making some changes to my eating habits and maybe even get in the routine of some basic exercising. This isn't the first time I've tried to switch up my eating habits, and every single time, I've found some excuse to throw it all out the window after about a week of doing it. O stop, I managed to stop being a alcoholic, you can stop being a food junkie . Its simple just look at the fat people riding walmart electric carts, and say to your self, do i really want to end up like that. Then think about something that really pisses you off about fat people, and use that anger every time you feel like eating junk food. Then as far as becoming healthy, and being able to be in shape, that can be tricky, but just find something thats easy to do. I mean as writing this i tighten my stomach muscles like 100 times. It really is that easy. Then just dance or something at least 10 mins a day, and you will have a good body in no time. REMEMBER THIS IS SPARTA WE DONT HAVE NO TIME FOR FAT PEOPLE haha. Seriously though just use anger its the most effective tool, to force your self to do something you normally wouldnt. I stopped drinking due to how much i hate drunken hill billies, and i stopped driving drunk, when i saw a video of a drunken hill billy who hit a mothers van, and trapped her daughter in there, on fire for 45 mins, and totally ruined that poor girls life. Here is a good song to make you angry, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fn7nZW1GD4c. Hope it helps, even be angry at me for being so in sensitive to your situation, and go punch the air for like 5 mins, and eat some oats. Here is a sure fire diet to lose weight, oats and total cereal in the morning, ramen noodles for lunch, and peanut butter chicken rich for dinner. You can switch them ramens, for something else, under like 400 calories, eat that and work out 10-20 mins a day, and tighten your stomach while typing on the internet, and you will be to your weight class in no time. O yeah, and stop listening to that nonsense like all about that bass, which is making people think its ok to eat garbage and be out of shape. I mean its pretty sad that me, a smoker of cigarettes could out run you dont you think? Edited April 5, 2015 by makasouleater69
