So why bother keeping in touch with someone who is just using you to complain about his misery but doing nothing about it? Yes, you will miss talking to him. It's hard to give up. I've been there too. It's like dieting though. REAL progress hurts. Will power is when you are facing down homemade chocolate chip cookies and turn away. But you start to feel empowered and soon you are rewarded with a different prize -- looking good. I may not be articulating it so well, but I think you get the analogy. Bottom line: this isn't some great love affair. I believe with time (and no, two months isn't enough) you will completely get over him and laugh at yourself for ever being involved. That he so much as TOLD you he would only leave if you swore to be there for him tells you he's just looking for a soft landing.
