Toodaloo
Sometimes being single sucks... Just found an offer for a lovely hotel, romantic meal and theatre tickets for 2... For 2. If you want to go and one woman and her dog its going to cost twice as much... Perhaps I could take a blow up doll and dress it up... Really want to buy them but have no buggar to romp about with and get all romantic with so absolutely no point... No baby oil is being cracked open here... Hrumph. I am going to go look for falconry or monster trucks or something completely off the wall...
Jessie1231
It does suck sometimes. I get these travel emails and all the deals are rated for two person stays and seem like such fun romantic adventures. My last relationship was with a nightmare of a man with more issues than me which is saying a lot, but he did love to take these fun little trips and I miss that part terribly.

It would be lovely to whisk that special person off fr 24 hours and spoil them but sod it. Satu
Thats a downer for sure, but there are a lot of things that you do on your own. Hiking into the mountains and camping on your own is awesome. Learning to fly and flying solo is awesome. Walking around town and taking photographs on your own is awesome. But yeah, for some things you do need another person...
somedude81
Being single is pretty much the primary reason why I've never went on a cruise. You pay per cabin so it's essentially twice as much just to go by yourself.
RedButton
Take a female friend? There's less stigma associated with two women travelling together than two guys. I still remember going to dinner with a friend and when a third guy joined us he said "Oh good, now our sexuality is only 'questionable' as opposed to 'definitely gay'" I've had moments like this before as well, usually two tickets to go to a movie premiere or the like. I would usually call on a female friend to go with me, or if that failed just bring a mate along. I know a full on hotel room and travel is a different story, but still... As for something to do on your own, you could even learn a new skill/sport/hobby. Do something different like fencing, axe throwing etc. Those communities are small so everyone is super nice because they want more people to learn.
Author Toodaloo
If it were not for the hotel and romantic meal I would just grab a random friend and go on my own...

We can pig out on burgers and fries (or chips since I believe you are in the UK). I also like a show too.

Satu
Develop the habit of dropping into really swanky places, and having a glass or two of champagne. Then leave a big tip and walk out feeling like you own the world

lovebirds
I won a voucher for dinner and a night in a fancy hotel last year. It expires soon. Since I still haven't found anyone to spend that night of bliss with, I'm going with my best friend. Girls night!
preraph
Personally, I love holing up in suites by myself. Wish I could afford it, but those days are gone. I occasionally go to a cabin though.
todreaminblue
I am going to travel one day, and if its on my own its on my own, ill talk to people i meet, one thing about being on your own, you can possibly meet someone special...wouldnt it be cool if it were exotic and on some windswept beach somewhere......you just never know...infinite possibilities of serendipity..yeah.....the movie rocks......smilin..... i dont think not being with someone is a reason to hold off on travel or hotel deals.... ....i talked to my daughters about coming with if we save up....going off overseas...one daughter has no desire to go overseas...paranoid about terrorists in fact is vehement about wanting me not to go somewhere .....risky........my youngest daughter has my travelling soul and said yes straight away.the other is thinking about it...i know she would come though she is into humanitarian pursuits.......i want to do a mission though...and whether a family member comes or not ...or i am alone...i am going.... dont hold off waiting for someone to appear to go on a special weekend etc....go meet that someone special you havent met yet, or would never get to meet staying home, you will still have fun....i promise that you will......deb

neowulf
Yeah, it's true. Sometimes it's nice just to have real companionship. Lets face it. Good, healthy, loving relationships are one of life's best pleasures. Can we live without them? Sure, technically, so long as you have shelter and enough food and water you can survive. But really thrive? Really live? I'm not so sure. I console myself that we live in an age were we can at least reach other to others who are sharing the same struggles. Makes me feel less alone
