Not Feeling Appreciated

I do admit, however, that I had distorted the situation in my mind a bit much.

I honestly think that the extremities of the situation developed in my mind, partially because of the stress we've both had over the past 2 weeks and partially because I was feeling down already when this all began to unravel in my mind.

I disagree. Everything you mentioned in the list is as it was, should not be downplayed, and was not extremities developed in your mind at all.

There are patterns of behaviour in situations like this so you need to watch what is occurring in a few months time. However, I still stand by everything that Ive said and that will not change. The attraction is not mutual in my opinion and at the very least, yours is more than hers and you were the only one that saw it important enough to bring up as opposed to both of you.

My last bit of advice is simple, seek the truth in all matters, even if it hurts. Good luck.

I take all your words to heart! And to be fair, she did mention during that time how poor our communication had become over the past few weeks, which is what made me start looking at everything in a more serious / sensitive manner.

Either way, I'll still pay close attention to everything. She has been really making an extra effort these past few days to show that she cares and appreciates me (randomly bringing me coffee, initiating nice conversation, making time for me, etc..). Whether this is a short lived attempt or an actual effort at improving things, we'll see!

Quick rundown: 20 yr old male / 20 yr old female in a serious relationship, both in college (2 hrs apart), 5 year anniversary is coming up in April, and I plan on proposing to her this summer.

My problem: I'm not feeling appreciated.

[/b]

Solution: Don't propose.
