My lover
Why do women like to show cleavage?. Is it to make them feel sexy? and the attention? they get. If they do then they shouldn't complain about men stareing at them.

preraph
Most women don't show bare cleavage in everyday life. If they do, which would be mostly for beachy or evening clothes, then yes, I imagine they won't be surprised to get noticed, but there is a difference between being noticed and having some strange guy just keep staring at you rudely.

They do it on purpose! They want guys attention and when they get it they get mad!
carhill
Why do women show cleavage? Can't ever know for sure, but one thing I do notice is that it is a sure-fire way to get males to congregate!
SupportiveGuy
Is that something like walking down a dark alley and expecting not to get mugged? Because it's a basic entitlement of civilized society not to get mugged and stared at. I remember when I was in high school, I could be daydreaming about something else and not even noticing, but then I'd realize that my eyes were on autopilot tracking all the boobs as they went by. Or you could imagine that a woman is doing something sexy, and thus purposefully pleasing to men, and it's only to be expected for a man to show his appreciation by doing something that she would find equally pleasant. Or, as is often the case for high school girls, they dress slutty because their girlfriends pressure them into it. If we were all nudists, it wouldn't be such a big deal. Just ask a nudist. The more you hide, the more exciting it is to show it off.
WomenWubber
A girl friend of mine prefers low cut tops because she has "sweaty boobs", or so she told me when I asked her lol. Edited March 31, 2015 by WomenWubber
JuneJulySeptember
To attract men. It stands to reason that if you try and attract the hot guys you want, you're going to get a ton of other guys you don't.
compulsivedancer
Once your boobs reach a certain size, it's hard to find anything that doesn't show cleavage. My boobs are not THAT big, but they are pretty decent size. I am usually pretty careful not to show cleavage at work, but a few times I've realized that the shirt I'm wearing shows more than I thought, or that when I lean forward I'm showing off quite a lot without meaning to. In the evenings, I prefer tank tops and spaghetti straps. This heartens back to my ballet days (when my boobs were a lot smaller and I never had cleavage). This is what is comfortable for me, but it does show a fair amount of skin. Not necessarily intentionally, but definitely at times. Sometimes I like male attention, but blatant, rude attention, no way. And in certain situations, it's embarrassing. I wore the outfit because it was comfortable and not as hot (temperature-wise), not to attract guys.
loveweary11
Um.... because it's hot AF? lol I'm also a HUGE fan of the crop top trend.
preraph
A girl friend of mine prefers low cut tops because she has "sweaty boobs", or so she told me when I asked her lol. Hah. Nothing a cotton bra wouldn't cure. But each to his own. I have friend who was showing a lot of boobage (40 yrs old and a mother). It was a product of where she'd come of age being a real loose town that way, but a mother wearing a plain man's white wifebeater tank shirt at her age, I'm no prude, but it was tacky. Those have no coverage whatever. People forget they aren't teenagers anymore. Being a good old friend more like an older sister, I gently reminded her (actually I wasn't gentle at all - I think I said "A wifebeater at your age? Are you kidding?) and then spent $50 on a fancy tank with a built-in shelf for her. Ah, well, she came from a place they do a lot of public nude sunbathing. I went with her to that river place once and funny thing, only the girls with big boobs were there nekid.
jessicachoi
Uh, because it is just parts of our body and a lot of women don't even think about the fact that the are showing some cleavage in daytime , because we are used to like... Having boobs. At least to me, most of the time it is never meant sexual lol. Yeah it looks pretty and such, but most of the time I don't realise that i am showing cleavage because it is not a big deal to me. To me, my cleavage belongs to my body just like my collarbones. And I guess it also has to do with the fact that i don't believe that breasts are (extremely) sexual parts. Not my fault that society heavily sexualize breasts...
mrs rubble
I have huge boobs. My breasts appear less conspicuous in a v neck or scoop neck top, so that's what I wear. In a high neck shirt I look ridiculous. I am also a naturist so often wear nothing at all. I've heard a multitude of varying views on my breasts over the years from "wow! Love your boobs!" To " big boobs are hidious ugly things" Not much I can do about them without surgical intervention, so I will continue to wear what is most flattering to my appearance and ignore the comments.
LookAtThisPOst
Attention & feeling sexy do not excuse blatant staring or other rude / vulgar behavior. Depends, if it's just a small divot that's inadvertantly being shown I can understand that, but if its a push-up bra/corsette-like ensemble, then sure, take a longer look. I get a kick out of the online pictures, either Facebook or online dating, where there's a "from the above view" shot where she's pressing her boobs together with with a sh*t eating grin on her face. LOL Then complain in their profile about the remarks they get. Or they just keep the camera at boob level. But, on the other side, I'm into boobs more than any other body part. regine_phalange
Because they can! None of your business. In my case, if I wear a v neck that reaches my belly button, still, there won't be much cleavage showing.
guest569
It's the perverts problem, not a woman's problem for simply having breasts. Some of the comments here are just stating that it is ok to be a sleazey pervert who treats women like objects.

xxoo
I dislike showing cleavage, and never show it in the cooler months, but it's difficult to avoid in summer clothing--especially sundresses, which are my favorite thing ever.

GemmaUK
I find it pretty difficult to find tops which go with skirts/jeans etc without some of them showing cleavage. Summer dresses are almost impossible to find without a lower neckline. I have a gorgeous ankle length skirt which sits on my hips and if I wore that with a full body covering top I would look drowned in clothes - even worse if I didn't wear a close fitted top to show I have a waist higher up than the skirt sits. I'm only 5ft but slim and with as much boobage as my proportions can handle and I am slightly top heavy as it is anyway. I get equal stares and comments from strangers when I wear my men's big baggy grey converse sweatshirt with a hood and jeans as I do if I wear that long skirt and a V-necked long sleeved top which shows some cleavage. Something I never have and never would do is wear a low cut top with a short skirt as that just looks tacky to me. Legs or cleavage is the rule, never both. Having said all of the above - what the heck! A little bit of attention is nice if expressed in the right way. Women look at men, men look at women. If I never again saw a great bum/thighs in a pair of levis or a gorgeous shaped arm (not all muscles - just that natural tone.. ) and that male shoulder to waist to hip ratio then well. I may as well be a dead 'un! Great bodies come in all ages and both genders. It's nice to have something appealing to look at! Thank you to the boys who I know aged 28 to 63 who I know who have that body shape that I like to take a peek at - you make my day sometimes - you certainly brighten it up!! : I don't care that much if someone glimpses my neckline, many a 'gentleman' does and the difference between a gentleman having a look and a toad (douche bag) having a look is sooooo darn easy to spot that all it takes is one glance and you know whether or not you want to be around that guy.
bebe23
It's the clothes' fault! Most cute blouses I own with V or scoop necks show décolletage. I've had to invest in light tanks that are a little higher cut to wear underneath, or I cover up the neckline with a scarf. And, as my husband has pointed out so often when I'm getting dressed for a church service, I can look in my mirror and the neckline looks modest to me, but HE can see my cleavage from his higher vantage point being taller. So I either put in a scarf or throw a tank top under it. Ugh! And I'm a C cup, not that big anyway.

Shepp
I'm with loveweary11, i'm not gonna be complaining. Its a free world, women can wear what they want. If it happens to make them look hot...i'll suffer that...y'know in the name of free choice an all! Low cut blouse on a woman = rolled up sleeves on a man. I simply LOVE strong forearms Haha made me laugh. My mums been on my case about rolling my sleeves up since I was about 8! "It creases/stretches your shirt Alfie"..."roll them down it looks smarter".. Even now when we go out to dinner - hell even on my wedding day she was trying to roll my sleeves down Makes me laugh! Long sleeves annoy me though, even in the cold.
