Getting ready to divorce but what shoul I do in settling this

Well here I am separated after trusting and giving my husband a chance 6 years ago from cheating. I am so weak ,hurt and truly scared. He dumped me after 22 years I was sick the past four years he started treated me different I thanked him for giving me ice, food and water though. It seems while I was ill he found something new he denys it but his actions showed everything I suspected. I put hard work and trust into a man that did not mean in sickness and in health. Now he is trying to figure out how much he will give me of our assets to get rid of me. I found a doctor that started figuring out what is wrong with me and said I needed not to be upset, just as I get above water I was pushed down again.To say the truth I want to get over him because he does not stand by me and maybe I can heal.I do not think I will trust again. We have two property's being paid for a house, two vehicles his and 401k. Found out the house needs so much work that we will maybe get middle market for it. His offer is to take out his 401k and pay the house off and give it to me add two years of low alimony and sell both property's. Sounds really good huh but something is not right I know he is making alot more then he claims. I am suspisous and I am sick and worried with my health doing what it did. What if I dont heal help me friends what should I do? Is this house going to be to much for me also he wants the paper done through his attorney. He says his attorney would kill him I doubt that I think hes afraid . what should I do?

Two things I was thinking were:

1. Absolutely go to an attorney about this - not his

and

2. Why not combine all assets, sell and split in half? You could possibly buy something that requires less maintenance and be less stressed. Alimony after that would have to be decided.

 

I don't know him (or you for that matter), but I agree that something seems off since he is pushing that deal.

Not sure where you live but your stbxh does not "decide" what to give you. Obtain your own attorney who will sort out the assets and financial details. Steel yourself and don't let xH walk all over you. Too bad for him if he thinks the attorney will kill him. It was his decision to leave.

Thanks guys went to an Attorney gave him my money and go figure out of the whole state I pick someone that comes up as a fraud. He did very little work and asked for another 1,500. Deal was 1,500 then 300 a month or he was suppose to get half the money from husband or money when house sells.He said he would also get me temporary alimony. I Ended up bringing in 300.00 after talking to him but he has only filed with courts and had him served.After much pressure and 300.00 he sent in my income statement 20 days late. Anyway next week I have an appointment with another attorney but husband cut off money and says were busted, I say bull s*** but we know why. Attorney was suppose to get money from him also or wait untill house was sold. Know this I am ill and filing for disability but their is no guarantee on how much or if.I would except any of what husband could offer. I know he found someone while I was sick and now hes bailing on me. I worked before this hard and I am going and been through hell.
