DatingDirection
I've been vegetarian for 3 weeks now, and I love it. I don't miss eating meat, chicken or eggs. So far, the first 2 weeks I lost 8 pounds. This week, nothing, sadly. Is there a reason why that may be? I would love to lose another 8 pounds these next 2 weeks, any tips please? SycamoreCircle
Vegetarianism and weight loss have nothing to do with one another. This is coming from a life-long vegetarian. If you want to lose weight, cut out carbs. Stick to green leafy vegetables and low calorie foods. Avoid sugar, hydrogenated oil, and processed foods. An exercise regimen involving cardio and weights will speed the weight loss and help build muscle.
samantha_t85
A vegetarian diet doesn't equal weight loss. If you ate nothing but cheese pizzas, chocolate cookies, and potato chips, you'd be vegetarian - but you certainly wouldn't be losing weight! You need to track your caloric intake in order to lose weight, regardless of what it is you are eating. Calories out > calories in = weight loss.
Author DatingDirection
Please for the love of g-d, ok, I will say VEGAN with no processed food then! Every time I mention I went vegetarian, people assume, it doesn't equal weight loss, b/c they assume, I would incorporate processed fatty foods in my lifestyle, but that's not the case. Anyhoo, I will just keep at it. Thanks for the replies.
