Need help about Birth Control?

Hi,

Have a question for only women please. I am 20 yrs. old and I just started taking birth control pills for the first time on this past Sunday. So today is Thursday, I have only taken 5 so far. Well i have been nauseated every day with them, but i read and hear thats expected because my body is not used to it. Heres my question though: Yesterday, after four days of pills, I felt my breathing changed to shortness of breath and heavy breathing, not bad to go to the hospital but enough to keep me awake and worried about it. But heres the thing, yesterday I took 2 diet pills that I have never taken before, so do you think the breathing problems are from the birth control pills or the diet pills? I had called my doctor this morning, when I told them about the nausea they said keep taking them, but when I told them about the breathing they said stop taking them-but I did forget to tell them about the diet pills. So I tried calling back and they are closed-so now I need to decide do I try to take another pill and see what happens so I dont mess up my period now or just completely stop and wonder what it was from. I never took another diet pill since the two yesterday. Please help!

I think the diet pills are the problem, not the birth control pills.

the naseau will go away after a while, but it is not a problem I have ever had.

Are you having sex?

Do you smoke? (because that will increase risks from taking the pill)

Take the bcp one more day and then call you doctor tomorrow.

The b-control pills are giving you hormones that your body isn't use to. Why are you taking diet pills?? They are so unhealthy for you...and they kinda contradict the b-control pills. The b-c give a lot of side affects like dizziness, headaches, stomach aches...etc. But the diet pills also give you those symptoms...If I were you chill on the diet pills till your body gets use to the b-control...You'll probably feel a lot better...

I started back on the pill and I feel the same way..it sucks I have to start all over...another thing is that the first time I took the pill they were to strong for my body so I had to get lower dosage...Try these out and see how you feel if not ask your doc. for softer pills...

i think it was the diet pills too, i know they are bad news, just was giving them a shot, and i will never take another.

yes i am sexually active, so i do need the pill.

i am on yasmin and that is supposed to be the lowest dose there is.

so i am hoping the nausea will go away.

i figure i will take the bcp one more time tonight and if the breathing part is ok i will continue taking them and consult my doctor and let them know about the diet pills.

i usually take them at 7pm at night, they told me to start taking them before i go to bed, i dont see how that helps.

the one who just started taking the pills again- i am pretty nauseated throughtout the night and entire day, eating does not help. normal to you?

It's probably the diet pills. They're famous for that. I'm on some too and it raises my blood pressure and makes my heart beat really fast. When I go to sleep at night, I can literally hear my heartbeat in my head, swishing. Hey, they may be bad for me, but I'm losing weight!!!

Yeah, if you are having sex, I wouldn't risk pregnancy by skipping becuase the breathing problem is probably caused by the diet pills.

But keep in mind that:

-You must take bcps for a cycle in order for them to work.

-Many medicaitons (including anti-biotics) will make the pill not work.

-If you throw up right after taking the pill or have serious diarhea, your pill won't work.

-You must take it regularly at the same time every day.

Neversaynever-yes i would appreciate the names of lower dose bcp. that would help me so i can let the doctor know in case the nausea stays with me.

holdon- i only threw up the morning after i took the first pill-so i take it that one did not work but every other day is just nausea.

thanks everyone for your replies, i feel better.

I think it was from the diet pills. I know a young girl who had a heart attack because she took too many of them. If it was your first time and on top of it you took 2, that could've put your heart in for a good beating...

If you insist on taking those pills which are so unhealthy, why don't you wait a while for your body to get used to the BC pills first so it's not in over-drive....
