rollercoaster11
Im new to this category but anyway my coworker and friend told me that she is worried about her 2 years old granddaughter. Her daughter has to work so she leaves her 2 year old in care of her father who lives with his girlfriend and their newborn daughter and her 9 years old daughter from another relationship. The 2 year old is complaining about being sexually touched by the 9 year old whenever they are sleeping in the same room suffice it to say my friend told her concerns to the child's father and his girlfriend and they don't believe the 2 year old. My friend and her daughter dont leave the child with the father anymore but are having a really hard time with this. I watch my friend break into tears because they dont know what to do. The 9 year old denied it and her mother is calling the 2 year old a liar and told her mother that she believes her daughter and to never bring her back to her home. The two year was questioned over and over always says its the nine year old that touches her and not anyone else...she has since stopped talking and my friend and her daughter dont know what to do. What do you all think. I want to help them.

Author rollercoaster11
Thats what I told my friend that they need to get the authorities involved. I imagine its going to be hard on both sides...both of them are just babies and I can understand where the disbelief can come from all adults involved..its all so sad. Like I said the two year old has literally stop talking.
turnera
Report it. Do it yourself. And tell your friend to pay for a child psychologist for her granddaughter.

Author rollercoaster11
The 2 year old mother will be taking her to a pediatrician to get examined. I dont know why they waited so long to get her checked out and also I was told that the two year old is the one who told her mom first....they only questioned her to make sure that she really understood because she is only a baby. I did tell her to get a psychologist to talk to her because now she doesn't want to go around her dad because she thinks that he is taking her to his house .
CC12
I did tell her to get a psychologist to talk to her This is the kind of advice you should be offering her, imo. That, and suggest that she call the National Sexual Assault Telephone Hotline at 800.656.HOPE (4673) or your local Child Protective Services. Other than that, just listen to her and be her friend, but don't get too involved, and try to stay impartial. I know you want to help, but I just don't think there's much you can do as an outsider besides suggest resources for her and her family to contact.
